GOOFY DAY

I had a very goofy day. A doctor appointment that didn't go as planned...
I won't bother you with details... But I am soo tired.
Instead I'll show you my solids that I am drooling over....  EEK! Don't they look good?
The inspiration quilt and napkins have slightly different colors, as I had to try to blend a few  different tones into the quilt...like purples, lavender and pinks,
ochre three different creams and four different grays... I like how it dances,
and it isn't just a perfectly laid out quilt...
EEK! again!
I'm running out of fabrics already! How can that be!  Rats and double rats!
fabric shack, here I come...

I am finishing up the quilting on the School house quilt.
I figured I better get at this ASAP before the school year is over!  I printed out BIG letters, for
R,E,A,D, and will cut them out and trace them onto the big RED squares
and quilt a letter into each red block. It should be really cute!
In fact! The Singer feather weight, boo's librarian gave me, (yes, gave me!)
is in the shop being fixed up right now!
I have made two quilts to give to Sally, in exchange for that lovely gift.  this one here above, was a baby quilt that she gave to a special wee boy... At the time, the mother is Japanese, and father is from NY, so It was a mixture of the two.. NYC fabrics, taxi cab yellow, apples,(big apple) Japanese prints etc... and then I stitched NEW YORK, and TOKYO into the quilt. She had asked that I put the name of the boy on the quilt, but at the time we didn't know what it was...  But wouldn't you know it, I had the boys name on it after all?  They named him YORK! NEW, YORK , indeed!

Ooh! I got one of my Christmas presents today!  yeah I know, late huh? But it had to come all the way from AU... How funny to open it, when it's SLEETING AND RAINING AND SNOWING outside here, and there was POPSICLES on the cover...
sigh. I'd give anything to be in AU for SUMMER right now!
I came home and also found a BIG box of three quilts (that makes my day better!)
that I had my friend SHELLY, (the other Shelly),
quilt for me on her long arm... (three less for me to quilt!)
My one and only Selvage quilt... Looks good with those Popsicles!

Summertime, summertime, sum sum summertime!

Lot's of luck.
Bet ya $10 that ground hog doesn't even pop up tomorrow... he ain't coming out til JUNE!

  2. I see a napkin quilt in my future. Your quilt is VERY good looking.... and could be a guy quilt.... those guy quilts take more doing...no pink, no flowers, no, no no....

Your special quilts are just great..... you do so many...

  4. I just love your solids quilt, and that one you got back from Shelly. I'm entranced by the stripes in the outer border. So cool.

I'm not going to take your bet. I just told someone I didn't think they'd be able to dig Punxsutawney Phil out of his hole tomorrow. Too much snow.

  9. We are in a big blizzard here (Chicago area), EVERYTHING is closed (no work either!), so it's an official sew-all-day day! A local blogger said that they even cancelled groundhog day - ha! Love the solids quilt V - you really had a vision on that one! hope you find more fabric! :)

Was this your new doctor? Are you ok?

Sorry for such a rough winter, but at least we escaped this latest snowstorm here in the south.
