Thank you!!

THANK YOU!!! OODLES More signature blocks have come in! I'm so far behind on squaring them up! I wish I could thank you each individually, but, many don't have email addresses included, so I send a HUIGE THANK YOU out to the universe and hope it finds you!

If you would like to contribute one, please do! Even after this large pile, I am not anywhere near a king size.  LOL! Like I said, I will be gathering these all year long. The link will always be in the side bar.

Something Old, Something NEW!

Today the cutting table moved out in pieces.... I had to completely take it apart to move it, which was quite a bummer... Way more work than I wanted to do on a Sunday!
But it's done!
The rest of this space is now a complete disaster... LOL!  Tomorrow, My fabric shelf unit os coming over to the new space... After that, I can focus on whipping this place back into shape...

Good thing I'm handy with a drill and screwdriver! Putting the cutting table back together...Not hard to do this, but kind of heavy and big pieces to maneuver...I think I need a big hot bath now to soak my weary bones...
My walls are now lined and ready, cutting table, CHECK!, Iron station, CHECK!
New Chairs ordered, CHECK, New Cutting Mat ordered, CHECK!  YAY!!!

The fabric unit with go where the stepstool is currently sitting... it fits perfectly there... Then I will wait a week or two, before bringing in the Handi Quilter Long arm... I want ot make sure everything is where it needs to be...

After I got the cutting table back up, I thought I needed a little play, so I sat in my comfy chair, and opened your notes with the Signature blocks... Each day I hope to put one 9 patch block together....
like below!
I have a nice bundle of these to sew together!  Keep them coming! I have a long way to go to make this King size! If you know I'm coming to your guild, Hit up your peeps for me ahead of time!
The link is here that you can give out...  these make me so happy. CUTE little blocks!

Thank you for all the blocks so far!

Blocks! thanks!

Thanks!!! your signature blocks are already showing up!  this will be a fun quilt to put together..I'm trying to decide if I start by putting 9 together into bigger blocks, or wait to lay the whole quilt out at once… Which seems overwhelming… so I may stick the 9 patch style, and let it build as it may!
Like this below…

Please, only ONE singed block per person….. Or I will have 50 king size quilts. ;-) I only need one. LOL!
see post here for more info.

I'm off to Gaithersburg Saturday night, for a workshop and lecture (sunday & Monday) with the Friendship star Quilters in Gaithersburg, MD. Will pop by Capital quilts on Monday mid day.
 Maybe see you there!

Pretty Please?

I've been obsessed lately with big quilts, with small pieces… Last September, I started gathering signature blocks from any quilters I know… And will continue to ask for them when I teach or lecture etc…
So now I realized, I missed a bunch of people this past year that I'd like to have in my quilt...

Have you ever taken  class with me?
...or my come to my lecture?
or met me somewhere along the way,
or not even met me but want to contribute a tiny block?
ha ha!

I'd love to get a signature block from you, for a quilt I'm making…
Pass it on, ask your quilter pals...

 cut  TWO - 1.5" X 3.5" strips
 of
A SOLID (NO HAND DYES) COLOR

NO PRINTS OR HAND DYES PLEASE!!!!

Please make it this size, or I can use your block.

cut ONE - 1.5" X 3.5" strip
of WHITE for signature

Sew them together, press seams open
….and sign, (fabric pen) Pigma Microns are great!
Keeping your signature at least a 1/4"
 in on the sides,
so it doesn't get cut off in the seam allowance…

**I am trimming these blocks down smaller, you don't have to worry about doing that.

THANK YOU!!!

If I came to your guild, can you ask your peeps and gather some blocks for me from the  members?
There is no deadline…. this quilt will just grow and grow…

Putting all my happy memories all in one place. :-)

NOTE:
I want to be able to use all the blocks coming in, so if your block is TOO SMALL OR TOO LARGE, I can't make it fit in the quilt…

 PLEASE NO HAND DYES!!!
If I don't know where they are, they will bleed all over the quilt!
NO cherrywoods, NO hand dyes…

***If you do not have a solid color,
just send me the white strip 1.5" by 3.5" long, with your signature,
and I can add the solid.

Thank you! The quilt is looking so great so far!!!
