My ON POINT (now named 'Secret Garden' thanks to my daughter) quilt has been sitting here for ages, just waiting for binding to call it finished... Finally last night I put the binding on it. I can tell you that binding is my favorite part to a quilt, those last few stitches making it complete is just the BEST feeling! (I have 8 more here that need binding... I may feel differently by them time I get them all done)
I made this quilt a while back, and have shown it a few times here... I used scraps to fussy cut flowers and even begged and borrowed LIGHT squares from many of you, to make the setting blocks. This quilt was my jump back into applique again after many years of avoiding it... It was also my ''Take along''project that I could do from anywhere... I need another project like this.
The colors are probably not something I would have ever planned out ahead of time, but with each block, I stuck them up on the wall to see what color was sticking out or disappearing, what needed more boost, and tried to balance them all.
Sadly this is NOT a king size quilt! So it does not fit on my bed. (what was I thinking?)
I can see myself starting another applique project like this to carry along with me.
Do you have a carry along project?
Tell me about it, I need some ideas. ;-)
