tricks and treats : NYC style

The goblin friends trick or treat NYC style... 

With some of the better costumes I saw tonight... ENJOY!

I thought this was the most clever costume of the night...

Magritte's the son of man.... Brilliant!

It was PACKED trick or treating... Hard to get down the streets... Mobs of people... The slightly chilly  night did not deter people from coming out to get their goodies!

There is a 4 block area of townhouses in Chelsea where everyone goes. The owners decorate like crazy for the event and must go through hundreds of dollars of candy... Kids babies, dogs and grownups... everyone comes out to watch the fun.

No dress up for me this year... (who is that gray haired lady, anyway??) I did manage to get my orange sweater out...LOL!  I actually forgot that I had a plan for a great costume, but remembered after we saw the Magritte painting...(at the end of the night!)
Remind me next year... will ya?  I need a yellow hair wig and some red white and blue face paint...  Guess you'll have to stop back next year to find out what it is...

Boo got a load of compliments on her creepy white costume... And a nice load of candy.  Did you have some trick or treating fun or a crazy costume this year? Do tell!

Trick or treating in NYC is fabulous....

We have pockets of areas with townhouses, that go all out

decorating for Halloween.... These folks do this every year...

A coffin on their front steps, and as you walk by, he sits up 

and screams and roars at you.... Kids freak!

A murder who dun it.... the outline, the smashed pumpkins, blood  and hammers...

evidence markers etc.... this was new, and very clever!

All sorts of ghouls and gobblins, careful not to lose your head, like this guy!

Or this guy in White laytex gloves!

Decor, spiders, ghosts galore...

NYC Finest rats, and beware of the garbage cans!

Tricks and treats loaded with fun!

I'm thinking I should rock this look everyday like I'm 15 again...

(maybe not!)

Trick or treating in NYC...
There is an area in NYC called Chelsea, where there are a few streets lined with old Townhouses... Every year the community goes all out for Halloween... Decor, ghosts, skeletons, coffins, spooky music and cob webs... And the streets get lined with ghosts and goblins galore. We've been so lucky to have warm streaks each year and the kids can go trick or treating without jackets on!

Everyone gets into it...And has a great time. Hope you all had a fun night!

Even the Empire State Building gets dressed up for Halloween.. See its Orange and white lights!

Normally, if we stay in the city on a weekend, we would be hanging out at Central park today. But With the NYC marathon today, we avoid going far from our loft... The city is packed with runners and family support. So, since it's a bit gloomy today, we may just got spend the day at the bookstore...Or parking ourselves in front of the TV to watch to see if Paula Radcliffe can win the marathon again this year! Go Britain!

Trying new things and still working on getting stitch length the same in my machine quilting...
