My friend Lisa and her Daughter Caroline stopped by my studio after the NYC MODS meeting and we played a bit in some fabric... ( of course!) As she was cleaning up to leave I told her should could definitely leave her scrap lay on my table.... because why not infuse a bit of someone else's fabrics into my scrap bins!!
Not more then 5 minutes after she left...
this happened.
And shortly after that, this happened...

Gotta love those scraps!!
Yes I save scraps too! I make lots of smalls so they are perfect for that!
ReplyDeleteLisa's happy scraps just make me smile all over!
ReplyDeleteI got my DWR Quilts book, I read it cover to cover....It's so cool that you put stories of the meaning of your quilts in there and it's not just "how to" reading ! Your scrap hexies are lovely eye candy...Lisa does have some pretty fabric !
ReplyDeleteI love that Jenny Egg! I'm sure she's a good assistant :)
ReplyDeleteInspiring Video! I've been playing with my scraps lately and made some string blocks. It was fun and easier than I thought. They also looked more usable and interesting than I thought they would. Thanks for your ideas.
ReplyDeleteLove what you produced in your play time! I was leaning towards sorting all my scraps into colour drawers etc. but now see that it's ok to just have the whole lot in one great big happy looking bin!
ReplyDeleteI throw all my scraps in a big box like that too! I was feeling guilty and thinking I should cut them up into strips and squares, but it feels like wasting fabric since I might need that little eighth inch for an applique piece or triangle.
ReplyDeleteto die for scraps!!! i visited Lisa's blog, l love her dwr quilt too. I get my copy of your book today, i'm giddy with excitement!!
ReplyDeleteLove your scrap bin! And your dog is the cutest!!
ReplyDeleteFusion!
ReplyDeleteYeah right, because you didn't have enough of scraps or fabric your own!
