I teach mini "Made Fabric" piecing in my 15 Minutes class, which I call my parlor trick! haha... I then had at the idea to start collecting a 1.5" piece of fabric from all my students... Am I insane? Probably, but I am joining in with my friends, Kim and Helen who are also working on postage stamp quilts...
I am doing mine on the machine, instead of by hand. All seams are pressed open to get the squares to lay flat. They sure are pesky little things!
Finished little squares will be 1"
I am also including my tiny made fabric little ones here and there just for insanity purposes. ;-)
Some of My NEW templates are now available only website.
Including this MINI 1.5" template! (more to come)
How cute!! Fussy cut cat faces!
More of my templates will be added soon.
Must get some sewing done today!
I think I am going to add in four patches with my little 16 patch blocks. I like how I can divide the groupings with my favorite color. ;-) Not sold on this yet... But I will keep PLAYING!!
Very fun!
ReplyDeleteI started the same type of blocks about a year ago. It is my go to project to bring to community sewing events because I can sew them and talk at the same time :-) I have about enough done to do a lap quilt. All as colorful as yours! Can't wait to see what you do with them!
ReplyDeleteI've been considering starting a quilt from 1.5 inch squares as well. not sure I'll be sewing itty bits together to make 1.5 inch squares, but you never know.
ReplyDeletebtw: I tried to buy your 1.5 inch template, but can't stomach $25 for international shipping to Canada. Why so much? doesn't it fit into a letter envelope?
HAHA! I forgot to change the rates for shipping the tiny items... stay tuned Brenda!
DeleteI love playing with 1.5: squares! Always have something going with them.
ReplyDelete"I've always been crazy, but it's kept me from goin' insane" is from my favorite Waylon Jennings song. Keep up your current madness!
ReplyDeleteSounds like crazy fun!
ReplyDeleteI save 2" squares. NOT going any smaller, under ANY circumstances. Regardless of how cute yours is. So there! :)
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteYippee! What fun! I have looked forward to making one of these for a long time even though I know it will be sooo heavy. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteWell this post definitely confirms it - you ARE insane!!!
ReplyDeleteYou could use some Lisa scraps in this quilt! They're in the mail...
ReplyDeleteThese blocks are simultaneously crazy and seductive!
ReplyDeleteI have some small post-its in my drawer and I thought they were small, but they are 2" x 2". Your pieces are little! I don't know if I would have the patience to work on such a project although I did make a charm quilt with 2000 tumbler blocks. It turned out 8' x 10'! It was my millennium quilt.
ReplyDeleteI love postage stamp quilts with this size block! I'm plugging away at mine. Now thinking I may need to add in some of those made fabric squares too.
