Contemplating a start of a new project... I went a little crazy buying up a nice collection of Kona solids.... It's so easy to do, right? Now I have this large pile of loveliness, and I am not sure what I want to make with them.... Waiting for inspiration to strike... or a good challenge...
Any thoughts? Challenge me?
You know I have a hard time turning down a challenge!
Binding is cut and attached to my cousins quilt... So now I Have that for my evening hand work. I have nearly all my sleeves done, and now i have to make quilt labels for everything... They won't take me to long to do, so I'm feeling slightly less stressed out. Although the packing for the 7 week road trip is still a bit daunting! Once I can start putting things in the bins, and suitcases, I will feel more comfortable... I am so excited to hit the road! I do love a good road trip....
the packing, not so much..
How about you?
Packing, love it or hate it?
Anyone looking for a part-time job?
Windham sent me this to post. Have aloof, maybe you know someone that it would be great for? Contact info is listed in the text below. (don't contact me... LOL)
A Project QUILTING Challenge will be posted tomorrow...it's going to have something to do with using panels though...extra tough challenge for you - mix the panel and solids and make something cool ;)
ReplyDeleteThose are so not the solids I would have bought. They look like a fantastic summer overrun English garden bed of flowers. Have fun packing, remember that quilters like to shop so take loads of quilts and such and few clothes.
ReplyDeleteI think you should attempt a log cabin since you have lots of variations in lights and darks. I know you could do something special with that traditional pattern.
ReplyDeleteThose colors are so you! .I like Brenda's idea! I have so many irons in the fire, I can't think of anything for you.
ReplyDeletepretty solids, looking forward to what you use them for!
ReplyDeleteThat's a long stretch to pack for. I hate packing too. I'm ok with what I call the peripherals. Books, mags, electronic devices, food...but I always put off the clothing part until the last minute. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors, how about making a piece inspired by a song
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to take a song! Let's sing, my song for your fabric were: Like Ice in the Sunshine!
ReplyDeleteColors...improvise...be lose...create...
ReplyDeleteOOPS!!! "Loose"!!! ;0)
ReplyDeleteChallenge? How about "Being Here" as a theme? Surroundings often inspire artists. You will be back in the Midwest again, so you could simply soak it up and see what pops into that brain of yours....maybe being with friends and family, old memories or making some new ones! Have one terrific time!!!
ReplyDeleteAhh - Kona solids, a very large part of my stash. But where are the blues - surely you could sneak in a bit of turquoise or cobalt. Cheers, Elizabeth White
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely garden full of colors! I always put off packing to the end whereas my husband has his luggage lacked and closed 2 days ahead of time. Guess who forgets the most? Not getting to WI until late August but it's always the place I think of when it comes to summer vacation. Looking forward to your road trip bulletins!
