The Quilt Alliance Quilt, "Quilters Play Manhattan", is basted and ready to quit... I hope to get much of it done this week! I was so happy to use this Kaffe fabric for the backing, I think I've had that fabric for three years...I also have to get QUILTS ready for my trunk show/book signing at City Quilter on Thursday night. ( info at Side bar)
Yesterday Fed ex delivered a white fake Christmas tree to our house! can i say, Just how happy I am to have a fake tree this year? I had that tree out of the box and plugged in 5 minutes after the Fed ex guy left! I loaded it full of red, green and white ornaments, many of them are vintage ornaments, and home made ones... It was a surprise to my family as we had said we would not put up a tree this year... I had too. Must have a tree, even if we're in Africa for Xmas... My dear friend Kim and hubby will be here and THEY need a tree! ;-)
When I was I Seattle for Thanksgiving, LeeAnn and I went shopping, and we were both oohing and ahhing, over the white Christmas tree displays... I love how it sets off the Ornaments! Super cute!

You are such an ambitious gal with all that you do - even with your trip to Africa just around the corner - I would love one tenth of your energy! Awesome quilt, great Kaffe fab...and a beautiful tree - so was Boo pleased and really surprised? Meant to comment earlier too that the pics you posted of her were just precious! In case I miss you before you leave - have a Very Merry Christmas...we expect pictures of Santa and his zebras! LOL
ReplyDeleteThat raspberry throughout the Alliance quilt really caught me in the pic-- I love the KF backing you used! Really great on both front and back :D
ReplyDeleteCannot wait to see your quilt once it is all done. Your white tree is beautiful and goes perfect in your loft.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas.
Will you be keeping an eye out for African fabric? What an adventure for your family. I remember my grandma always had a real tree that was flocked with the fake white snow stuff. :o)
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS quilt - you can never go wrong with Kaffe! And yay on the tree - I went the same way last year, after 30 years of a live tree.
ReplyDeleteI love your white tree, and that quilt is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteooohhh, great Kaffe print. I've been playing with mine lately -- making some stars here and there and just reveling in the glorious colours. and definitely look out for African yardage -- last year my nephew came back with an outfit -- he paid 14 bucks for 12 yards of fabric, and about the same to have it sewn up.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah we are gonna enjoy that sweet Christmas tree :0)
ReplyDeleteI hope I catch your creative spirit too ...leave some in your sewing studio for me okay?
Happy Sewing
Love your white tree. I didn't set up a tree, because we are leaving next Friday and will be gone three weeks. Oh well.... I know you've said you're going to Africa before, but I think I missed why you are going. Sounds really cool!
ReplyDeleteI love your white tree. It reminds me of MN winters.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! I too just had a PRE-LIT fake tree delivered. The kids are at college, my DH hates lights and VIOLA...tree up, lights lit, and the ornaments....well I have a few days...YEAH!
