Color Color Color!     Play Play Play!!!!
A while back, my friend Kathy Doughty of Material Obsession and I were chatting about the Virgin Mary icon that we are both drawn too.  Then she saw my Spoonflower Mary's that I had been working on...and we started thinking...  We collaborated to come up with a BOM Program using the largest of my Mary's to do a study on color! Kathy designed the quilt, and, here is what the BOM will include:

The Mary panel,
a collection of shot cottons from Reece Scannell
and all the fabric for the top
PLUS the acrylic templates for the vortex block (whirly gigs) and the Sunburst corners.
The top, bottom and sides panels are raw edge applique, the stars are wonky (a nod to the fabulous Gwen Marston who inspires us all) and the rest is about working contrast and blending.  Each month they will include either a tip or an exercise with the block for exploring colour.
The program starts shipping in August 2012.
