I have 9 made so far of my Triangle Galore Blocks. My goal at the time was to make a GREEN quilt.... So far so good. But then I start to play and options present themselves. Will I just join them block by block?
Or set them on point? Will I add another block design in between them? maybe. I love on point, but, I always do it... time for something new...
Space and sash them? I rarely do that, But I did play to see the choices...
Something wild? I happen to have some scrap laying here that I stuck in to see how it worked. Of course that gets me all excited! The crazier the better!
Something safe? bright red sashing? nah.... not a fan of that... BUT, I can see GREEN flying geese set in the RED! Scrappy geese! Lot's of different green ones, and a few purple and blue ones just for good measure!
Now I am on to something! Stay tuned!
Look!
Geese Droppings.
(Couldn't resist)
heh heh ...
I'm off to Minnesota to my wee fishing cabin... I can't wait to have this view!
I'll be hand stitching, on the dock of the bay!
Have a great LONG weekend!
Okay, so since I have a small hand (block) in this quilt... hehehe... I thought I would add my two cents. I am such a fan of on point. What about on point with some crazy sashing? That I can get into. Black or red would be my choices. If you did red you would have another Christmas quilt in your hands. But I am sure whatever you decide it will be gorgeous!! Have a great time in MN. I think we are just going to keep criss- crossing the country. When will we both be on the east coast at the same time again???
ReplyDeleteThe blocks are gorgeous- love the crazy sashing !
ReplyDeleteThe fishing cabin sounds divine- I am feeling a little green about that ! Have fun

These blocks make me feel like I'm in the most brilliant garden -- riots of color. Perhaps you have bees buzzing close by? Happy "fishing."
ReplyDeleteI love these green blocks! Have fun with the sashing. Me, I love a block on point! Beautiful my friend, as always! Have a fabulous weekend!
ReplyDeletePretty blocks. I like them set together, on point. Sashings would look nice, but I like the design it makes without them.
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting me peek over your shoulder - I love watching your creative process. On point gets my vote, maybe FG around the outside... have fun on the dock :).
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love your blocks. The flying geese sashing is fabulous. If you don't use it I will...lol Hugs
ReplyDeleteThat is going to be a fabulous quilt - love on point with all the different colored geese. We'll have a smorgasbord of weather here in Minnesota for you to enjoy this weekend. Wish you had time to stop by or get together.
ReplyDeleteYou're so funny! Geese droppings! Ha!!!
ReplyDeleteOh those are such fab blocks, and I love the red/green kaffee together! (I think I'm going to have to make a Christmas quilt!)
ReplyDeleteWatch out for the 'skeeters!
ReplyDeleteLove the blocks (and the goose dropping joke... ha ha!)! I like the flying geese sashing, but I do love the on-point setting too--it just seems to add a little extra sparkle!
ReplyDeleteLove these blocks Victoria! My fave sashing is the scrppy one. I always say, If it's looking a bit busy...make it busier. Embrace it! A
ReplyDeleteI love the blocks and the colors: Red & green. So I like your geese and I would also use up the "droppings". I have been known to make little tiny HSTs with those trimmings. I think you are on to something here, but only 9 blocks?
ReplyDeleteOk now I want to make my own blocks. They look great. I don't have plans for the weekend and that is a first. :)
ReplyDeletelove the red and green flying geese makes me want to go fabric shopping
ReplyDeletelove these blocks and this quilt!
have fun and RELAX!!!!
Kathie

ReplyDeleteWhy does everything look better on point? The geese are a brilliant alternative! Have a great weekend...
ReplyDeleteHi, Victoria. Great blocks and the flying geese sashing seems perfect to me--They really dance! Enjoyed your photos of Quilt Market. I hadn't run across Luke Haynes work yet, so I'm glad you pointed readers (like me) in his direction.
ReplyDeletebest,
