Emily from http://crazyoldladiesquilts.blogspot.com/ has a new book out "Geared for Guys."
I got to meet Emily at Market in Kansas City where she had many of her quilts and her new line if fabric up. Great quilts! I often hear people say, "I need to make a quilt for a guy," which is then followed by a sigh... Emily offers up some fun, smart looking quilts guys will love in fresh modern designs. (they will all work well for the gals too, with a twist on the fabric choices!)
I slipped up and forgot to get my post up for today as I was traveling... sorry Emily! I will adjust my post tonight! Thank goodness for IPhones!!
I really loved Emily's Designs in this book, I feel they have a fresh twist on modern quilting, and cleverly, she asked John Adams to design a quilt as well.
Father's Day is coming! Do you have a quilt made for your Father? :-)
Wanna win a copy?
Leave me a comment telling me two colors you find you often use in making quilts.

ReplyDeleteMost of the time I find myself using greens and a neutral, usually white.
I use green (SOME shade of it) and gold in almost every quilt I make. However, LATELY I've been playing with HOT PINK!!!! But still, there is a teeny tiny bit of green and gold...
ReplyDeleteBlue and green. I just can't help it.

This is a great looking book! Thank you for the chance.
ReplyDeleteWhite and orange, bu I use red a lot, too.
I have a lot of blue, so I use quite a bit of that, but I also seem to have at least a little bit of yellow in all of my quilts.
ReplyDeleteWhite is the only consistent color. That might be boring for some, but for me it is a nice contrast and allows my brain to process patterned fabric. A few quilts don't have white, but there is always a light colored solid to temper the storming cotton.
ReplyDeleteMost often? Red and green. That is a great book. Interesting quilting advice too.
ReplyDeleteGreat book and I have a son I'd love to make a quilt for. I'm doing two BOM so I didn't pick the colors, however I liked the colors in the quilts. I always seem to have blue in alot of quilts.
ReplyDeleteThank you and Emily for a super giveaway and a chance to win.
