Middle Aged...say what?

da da da da da da da da! You say it's your Birthday!
It's my Birthday to yeah!
They say it's your Birthday!
We're gonna have a good time!

Ahhh, don't you just love the Beatles?

OK. I read somewhere that the average lifespan of a female  is aprox 82 years of age... That would mean that  I am actually middle aged...

Wow.

Before I ponder that to much, I'm boogieing out of here to have  lunch with pals... I still like a good Birthday! No matter what that OLD number is!  ;-)

Yes, It's my BIRTHDAY! WHOOP WHOOP!

So... In the spirit of BIRTHDAY GIFTS...
I have a gift or two for you!

I was playing with some fabrics the other, ( go figure) and I whipped up another TRIANGLES GALORE, Click here or in tutorials for the download) block, and thought it would be fun to give some fabrics away, similar to what I was playing with.
So...

I'm not sure where this quilt is going yet, but of course, I like it on point....

So I said, "JACKIE at Canton Village Quiltworks, Can I get some Fat quarters to give away as Birthday gifts on MY Birthday to TWO readers?"
( the last digit of my new AGE. )
((and if you say 52 I will come straight through the computer screen and get you! ))

Here they Are!  I want to give two of you some Fat quarters to go and play with...

Leave me a comment and tell me which Birthday was the BEST YEAR(age) for you and why!

I'm loving this one... I feel I am right where I need to be!  Happy!

I'm off to eat CAKE!  wink!

This is going to go fast, I will pick the winners FRIDAY at 10am.
be sure to visit JACKIE at Canton Village Quiltworks too!

  7. Happy Birthday, young lady!

I would say that my favorite birthday was 40 because my forties have been fabulous, but that would mean admitting that I'm over 40. And I'm not. I'm 26. Just ask my 25 year old son and 21 year old daughter.

Once I got my driver's license that was it! Cheers, happy birthday to you! Hope it's a good one! I love that selection of fat quarters, some lovely prints in there....!!!

  10. I think it was fifty. I worked a two-week job that took me to the other Coast and altho I met up with a few friends they didn't know.

The next day, I was shopping and found a very pretty silver ring. Very different from anything I have ever seen and in my size ?~! HB to Me. I wear it every day in place of a wedding ring--prettier than most small rings it features a leaf shape with inlaid jasper.

They're all good ones, Victoria! I'd say that 40 was one of the better ones. My fifth child was still only a few months old, so it kept me feeling young. Also, I had recently gone online and joined some mailing lists, which generated a boatload of emails with birthday wishes. That was fun! As I said, they're all good!!

Every birthday is my best one! I love them, always take the day off (helps to be self-employed!), treat myself very well, eat cake, and ignore how the years are adding up.

  130. My best birthday year was when I was 53 because we got to talking numbers and I realized 53 was a prime number......which meant I was in my prime. Granted, there were other years with prime numbers but I wasn't paying attention to my age then. LOL! I thought turning 40 was pretty good, too. Took a different job and made some fantastic friends that year. I am planning an outdoor quilt show for when I turn 64 in 2013. My husband is "on board" and I am already humming the Beatles....."When I get old and gray in my hair.........I will share my quilts......." hee hee! A sense of humor really helps in life. :-)

  131. I can't really say. Perhaps the birthday I will always remember was turning 45. My sister passed away two days before, and it was such a blessing, for she had suffered for many many years with Multiple Sclerosis. The whole year I rejoiced that she was in heaven!

  137. Happy Birthday to you!!!! My favorite birthday was 50. Yes the big 5-0. My friends at work had a BIG, I mean BIG sign, like 4'x8', sign in front of our office (did I mention we are on a very busy street) Nifty, Nifty Diane's fifty with a big (over the hill)hill and a buzzard sitting in a tree. So cute and funny. My desk was all decorated and they had a big cake with black icing.

  139. Happy Birthday & so glad you feel you're right where you need to be. What else could be more perfect!

My fav birthday was the year I thought all year I was a year older than I actually was & the next b'day meant turning the big 50. As it got closer to my b'day, I finally realized I was only 48 & would be turning 49 instead of 50!

Guess I did enough dreading that year, cause the next year was fine.

Best birthday ever? When I turned 20. That year my big brother gave me the sister I always wanted. They got married on my birthday.

Best compliment ever? When same brother told me that his new wife reminded him of me.

  146. I think turning 18 was my best one of the early birthdays I remember. And now, EACH YEAR's birthday is the best one because I am still here on the earth with my wonderful hubby and family. Being a grandma is wonderful and I am enjoying quilting again after many years, as well as writing, gardening, birding and anything else I want to do!! OLDER is BETTER. ha

  156. Happy Birthday, Victoria. I loved turning 40 because I finished my master's degree that year. It was a good year all around. I liked 50 too, however. My husband threw a party for me. We didn't ask for RSVP's and SO MANY people came . . . people I hadn't seen for ages. It was like attending the best of reunions. Now I'm pushing 60. Oy.

  157. Happy Birthday! My best birthday is usually the last one I had - and ages are no longer mentioned. Last year it was on my brother's pre-Halloween party cookout night - with all the littles going on a hayride and having fun. I think the oldest child was 7 or 8 years old. Most were ages 2-4. It's so much fun to be with littles having fun. So, have fun! Thanks for the giveaway to celebrate.

  167. Strangely enough, this year was one of the best I have ever had and I have many!!lol I turned 45 (ouch!) The great part was this year my birthday was during the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival. I was on cloud nine, I took a quilting class with Robbi Joy Eklow and went to a lecture given by Tammi Bowser. The morning of my actual birthday, I walked through the all the quilts, took pictures and was in awe of all the beauty. I was so inspired.
My family took me for lunch at my favorite German Restaurant near my house. I received roses from my son and his wife, well wishes from friends and family.
**I think we all need a special day to be reminded that we are wonderfully made and worthy of love. I definitely felt that this year.

  170. I Think I would have to say 39 was a good year for me. The perfect age. Settled in life, but not the dreaded 40. Of course now that I am in my 50's, I am hoping 59 is better, LOL
