It's my Birthday to yeah!
They say it's your Birthday!
We're gonna have a good time!
Ahhh, don't you just love the Beatles?
OK. I read somewhere that the average lifespan of a female is aprox 82 years of age... That would mean that I am actually middle aged...
Wow.
Before I ponder that to much, I'm boogieing out of here to have lunch with pals... I still like a good Birthday! No matter what that OLD number is! ;-)
Yes, It's my BIRTHDAY! WHOOP WHOOP!
So... In the spirit of BIRTHDAY GIFTS...
I have a gift or two for you!
I was playing with some fabrics the other, ( go figure) and I whipped up another TRIANGLES GALORE, Click here or in tutorials for the download) block, and thought it would be fun to give some fabrics away, similar to what I was playing with.
So...
I'm not sure where this quilt is going yet, but of course, I like it on point.... |
So I said, "JACKIE at Canton Village Quiltworks, Can I get some Fat quarters to give away as Birthday gifts on MY Birthday to TWO readers?"
( the last digit of my new AGE. )
((and if you say 52 I will come straight through the computer screen and get you! ))
Here they Are! I want to give two of you some Fat quarters to go and play with...
Leave me a comment and tell me which Birthday was the BEST YEAR(age) for you and why!
I'm loving this one... I feel I am right where I need to be! Happy!
I'm off to eat CAKE! wink!
This is going to go fast, I will pick the winners FRIDAY at 10am.
be sure to visit JACKIE at Canton Village Quiltworks too!
Happy birthday. Turning 16 and 21 were the best, but it's fun celebrating every year.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to you from another March baby. Hhhm, my best birthday was probably my 40th when my husband conspired with my best friend in NY to come visit me in Seattle. Eek, that couldn't REALLY have been 14 years ago already?!?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful block! my 18th birthday was pretty cool, it landed on my high school grad party. Freedom!
ReplyDeleteHappy Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you...Happy Birthday dear Victoria Happy Birthday to you!!! and many more...just in case no one sang to you yet. My best was when I turned 30 it was the first time I ever had balloons and all the hoopla....loved it....I hope you have a wonderful one to...
ReplyDeleteA BIG Happy Birthday to you. Favorite was 23 when I graduated from college.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! and 42 is the answer to everything (according to sci fi folks.) My best birthday was my last one -- great B blocks from all over the world, and fun in NYC! thanks again for that, and thanks for the chance to win a birthday gift from you.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, young lady!
ReplyDeleteI would say that my favorite birthday was 40 because my forties have been fabulous, but that would mean admitting that I'm over 40. And I'm not. I'm 26. Just ask my 25 year old son and 21 year old daughter.
Happy happy happy birthday! 32 was the best year for me because for the first time I was finally comfortable in my own skin. I was okay with being me
ReplyDeleteUgh, I hate birthdays. Okay, I like cake and presents, but I hate hate hate turning older! I am 36 now, and really the last birthday that I absolutely looked forward to was 16. Once I got my driver's license that was it! Cheers, happy birthday to you! Hope it's a good one! I love that selection of fat quarters, some lovely prints in there....!!!
ReplyDeleteI think it was fifty. I worked a two-week job that took me to the other Coast and altho I met up with a few friends they didn't know.
ReplyDeleteThe next day, I was shopping and found a very pretty silver ring. Very different from anything I have ever seen and in my size ?~! HB to Me. I wear it every day in place of a wedding ring--prettier than most small rings it features a leaf shape with inlaid jasper.
Not too many happy birthday memories roiling around in my brain. The best year is going to be next year, when I turn sixty. But happy birthday to you. I hope your day has been fantastic!
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUUUUUU!! I have to say that I dont have particular year that I loved...I just generally LOVE my birthday EVERY year! I just have a blast and get all kinds of goodies and its just the GREATEST!! Hope you had a fantastic day!

Well Happy Birthday, my ipad says you posted this on 3/29 so it is my birthday too. But I turned 48 an hr ago. My daughter came to town last night and took us to dinner and helped her dad buy me an ipad a couple of hours ago. So this is a pretty good one.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!!! I think my best birthday was when I turned 46. It was during that time when my passion for quilting ignited and brought me a really good friend.
ReplyDeleteI have to say the year I turned 31 on the 31st of
ReplyDeletethe month because I won $500.00 ...doesn't
seem like much but at the time I was a struggling
single parent with a 2 yr old. It was an absolute
godsend for us, and now that he's a grown man
he helps me out once in a while. Happy Birthday and
many more.
Happy birthday Victoria. A gondola ride in Venice on my 54th birthday stands out as one of my most memorable.
ReplyDeleteMy best birthday was when I turned 51. My DH tokk me on a surpriceweekend. First night we stoped at a hotel near the fjord. Next day he took me to wisit a fabric shop called Desiree, and I got his credit card. In the evening he had gatered all of my family for dinner. All this with no planning or work from my side. Lovely. No wonder I love that boy. Hugs Jofrid
ReplyDeleteIt's your birthday? Really? Didn't notice, LOL! Happy Birtday!
ReplyDeleteThey're all good ones, Victoria! I'd say that 40 was one of the better ones. My fifth child was still only a few months old, so it kept me feeling young. Also, I had recently gone online and joined some mailing lists, which generated a boatload of emails with birthday wishes. That was fun! As I said, they're all good!!
Happy birthday, Victoria! Hah, you are just a spring chicken, I'll be 50 by the end of the month. Hope you ate lots of cace which is what I intend to do too - diabetic or not!
ReplyDeleteJoyeux anniversaire, Victoria ! XXX
ReplyDeleteNo best birthday for me :(
It may seem odd...but my best birthday was when I turned 65! I no longer had to pay the exorbitant medical insurance premiums...LOL
ReplyDeleteVictoria, that makes two of us that are that same middle age. My favorite years were 26 when I had my daughter, and 29 when my son was born!
ReplyDeleteBest birthday... The next one!
ReplyDeleteGreat block too!
Happy Birthday!!
ReplyDeleteMy most memorable birthday was 50th. My husband and I went away for 4 nights to an beautiful resort which we couldn't afford when we still had young children.
Where is the newborn?!:)) Happy Birthday Victoria!:) I'm your new follower
ReplyDeleteA very happy birthday to you! I hope it's the best ever. My best had to be 16. Why? The driver's license!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteHappy Happy Happy birthday
ReplyDeleteI think the best birthday ever was when I was about 10 and I got a brand new bike, I never thought I would ever get a new bike (being the youngest hand me downs was just the way it was!)
I treasured that bike for years....
enjoy your lunch and yes even get cupcakes for breakfast!
Kathie
I'd have to say 40 - my husband and I are 2 days apart and we escaped for a long weekend to Niagara Falls. I'm hoping though that this year will be the best yet since it's my "50th"! Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteHey you! Happy Birthday. Best birthday was last year when I was given a huge Amazon gift certificate and bought Gwen and Freddy's 2 books and Amish Abstractions. Yes! x
ReplyDeleteThe best birthday party I had must have been when I turned 9 (yes, nine). I remember it very clearly, because that was Easter Sunday. My birthday is late in April, and the next time this coincidence occurs is on my 96th birthday (!), lets hope that occation will turn out as great as the first one!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, by the way!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday. I hope you have a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Victoria. I think my best birthday was 38. I was the weight I wanted to be (how often does that happen?) and my kids were young so they were all home with me. Those two things have not coincided again. I am already a follower. Thanks for the chance to win some beautiful fabric.
ReplyDeleteHi Victoria,
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to you, wish you a great day! I dont know wich birthday is best, I'm just happy to be alive and healthy and since I still want to sew so many quilts, I hope that I'm in my mittleage too (47)

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you!! I have just become your 1000 follower woo hoo... don't think that has happened to me before! I was going to say my 50th was the best birthday but I was expecting a party for that, so I am going to say two years ago when I was 57. We went to the UK (we now live in France)for a visit. One of the nights we booked a table at a restaurant for family and friends and it was one of the best nights ever, just to be with everyone again was very special. Hugs Linda
ReplyDeleteHi Victoria... Happy Birthday.... its my son's too.... we have just finished singing "Happy Birthday".
ReplyDelete12 was quite good, 22 was really good, 32 was the best, 42 wasnt good. 52 was appalling :(
happy birthday Victoria, I guess my happiest birthday was my 37th when I had already lived with a live threatening medical condition and was still alive - and now 23 years later, still ticking and still eager to see each birthday alive knowing I am still here.
ReplyDeleteKaren
Happy birthday!! That's a hard one to nail down. My mindset is the best age is my current one:)

Happy Birthday!!! My favorite year was 33. I looked good and I felt good. I am loving who I am now, at 54. I am a quilter and most quilters that I have met are wonderful people. Love the age you are, you're not going to get younger!!! lol
ReplyDeleteHey! You say "52" like it is a bad thing - it isn't!!!!
ReplyDeleteI always consider the last birthday to be the best. My last one was really good - I got an iPad as a present. I have used it almost every day since then.
Happy Birthday! I always think my last birthday was the best! which actually was yesterday!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!!
Happy Birthday Victoria AND your blog has 1000 followers, I just noticed! My favourite birthday was 25. I had a really fun party with lots of friends and was really doing just what I wanted. I'm more than twice that now, and 50, two years ago, was really good too. I had another party, and I'd just opened my little fabric store. Next big one? 70
ReplyDeleteI think my favorite birthday was last year's because even though I hit 60, I enjoyed it whale watching, hiking and drinking wine with my husband. We went to a bed and breakfast in Fort Bragg CA and explored the areas near there and the redwood forests both north and south. No stress just joy.

That means the MOST RECENT ONE is the best until the next one comes along. Okay, I will stick with that. The most recent one is the best birthday so far.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Victoria! Wow, to be as young as you are.....any birthday up to the age of 55 I guess was good. Now I hate to see them come along.

ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! Every birthday is the best one when you are my age.... Live to quilt!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to you! I admire anyone who can handle any age, because I can't. I hate birthdays because it reminds of the time in my life when I got dumped after I was told that I was too old after 6weeks into a relationship. Now my brain tells me that everyone treats you bad if they know how old you are so I never talk about my age. Even my dad makes fun of me and my siblings getting older - very hurtful.
ReplyDeleteTurning 40 was so fun, the youth in my SS class came and rolled my yard and then came back later and cleaned it up..so funny!

ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! I don't really have a "favorite" birthday. Probably the typical turning 16 - driving age (even though it was a few months before I actually started driving!)
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Victoria! Being middle aged isn't too bad. Old enough to know better, yet still young enough not to care what others think. (wink).
ReplyDeleteReally, any birthday is good one. Life is what you make it.
Happy Birthday Victoria! And of course I wasn't going to say 52! Sheesh. :) I was thinking 32, right? My best birthday. Hmmm all are great! Most memorable. And it was also my sister's birthday and she had her on cake and we had friends and family there and had a great time. Hope yours is wonderful too! And I love these fabrics and your quilt block! My best birthday year was when I was 53 because we got to talking numbers and I realized 53 was a prime number......which meant I was in my prime. Granted, there were other years with prime numbers but I wasn't paying attention to my age then. LOL! I thought turning 40 was pretty good, too. Took a different job and made some fantastic friends that year. I am planning an outdoor quilt show for when I turn 64 in 2013. My husband is "on board" and I am already humming the Beatles....."When I get old and gray in my hair.........I will share my quilts......." hee hee! A sense of humor really helps in life. :-)

Best compliment ever? When same brother told me that his new wife reminded him of me.
Happy Birthday Sweetie! Hope you've had a wonderful lunch with plenty of cake :) x
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!! The best birthday year, for me, is always the one I just reached (much better than the alternative);o)

My favorite birthday would have to have been my 35th birthday. My wonderful man got me flowers and candy and took me to dinner and waited on me all evening. He even got me jewelry. Happy birthday to you.
ReplyDeleteI think turning 18 was my best one of the early birthdays I remember. And now, EACH YEAR's birthday is the best one because I am still here on the earth with my wonderful hubby and family. Being a grandma is wonderful and I am enjoying quilting again after many years, as well as writing, gardening, birding and anything else I want to do!! OLDER is BETTER. ha

Turning 25 was my best birthday! I had a huge suprise Over the Hill party and everybody that I knew was there.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!
40 was a great birthday for me. We had just moved to the country, fulfilling a lifelong dream, and I was still wrapped in love from the friends back home.
ReplyDeleteI hope this is the start of a wonderful year for you, Victoria!
I agree the age I am now is the best :0)...I'm really happy to be here!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday and many more happy years to come.

Happy Birthday Girl!!!! Hope you have a great day! Love the fabrics you picked out. So bold and colorful.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! I would have to say my favorite birthday was when I was 10. I got to have a "party" in the back yard with cake and ice cream with the neighbor kids. Other birthdays were just cake with family.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day!

A very happy BIRTHDAY! Hope the sun has been shining all day for you!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday was my 18th! Big surprise party put on by my friends! It was a blast & it was MANY< MANY years ago!!!
A week from tomorrow I turn 50, yes 50 and I can't believe it. It is going to be my best birthday ever! Enjoy your special day. :) <3
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Victoria. I loved turning 40 because I finished my master's degree that year. It was a good year all around. I liked 50 too, however. My husband threw a party for me. We didn't ask for RSVP's and SO MANY people came . . . people I hadn't seen for ages. It was like attending the best of reunions. Now I'm pushing 60. Oy.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! My best birthday is usually the last one I had - and ages are no longer mentioned. Last year it was on my brother's pre-Halloween party cookout night - with all the littles going on a hayride and having fun. I think the oldest child was 7 or 8 years old. Most were ages 2-4. It's so much fun to be with littles having fun. So, have fun! Thanks for the giveaway to celebrate.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday and I wish you many more. My happiest BD was 32! I wish I could have stayed there forever! Thanks for the opportunity to win some FQ's.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!!! My favorite one was my 40th. My kids made it special by loving on me all day and letting me do whatever I wanted. They also did no fighting that day.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!!
ReplyDeleteI've had so many birthdays, it's hard to pick a favorite. I'd have to say my 11th birthday--I got a softball glove (I'd been drafted to play on the boys' 4-H softball team.)

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! Hope your day is so very special! My best birthday is always the one I just celebrated! LOL
ReplyDeleteStrangely enough, this year was one of the best I have ever had and I have many!!lol I turned 45 (ouch!) The great part was this year my birthday was during the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival. I was on cloud nine, I took a quilting class with Robbi Joy Eklow and went to a lecture given by Tammi Bowser. The morning of my actual birthday, I walked through the all the quilts, took pictures and was in awe of all the beauty. I was so inspired.
ReplyDeleteMy family took me for lunch at my favorite German Restaurant near my house. I received roses from my son and his wife, well wishes from friends and family.
**I think we all need a special day to be reminded that we are wonderfully made and worthy of love. I definitely felt that this year.
My 55th. I'd just retired, and I was on mt dream trip in the Yukon.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! I will turn 52 next week and my birthday present to myself was my first-ever quilt retreat this weekend, so I would say this birthday is a pretty good one. I can't wait to quilt all weekend and get to know some people from my quilt guild.
ReplyDeleteI Think I would have to say 39 was a good year for me. The perfect age. Settled in life, but not the dreaded 40. Of course now that I am in my 50's, I am hoping 59 is better, LOL
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! 34 was a pretty good one for me - young, in love, living in Paris.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday.
ReplyDeleteI've just had a lovelt scroll through your blog.
Happy birthday - and tank you for a generous giveaway!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Victoria!!!
ReplyDeleteMany Happy Returns!
Yellow Rose fabric!!!!!! Yay! Perfect!!
I cannot pick one birthday as being the best. Each one is a blessing.
That's a hard one but last year is the worst ever. I was terminated by my employer but then I was able to focus on my craft business.
ReplyDeleteWell gosh darn I missed this BUT...HAPPY BIRTHDAY V!!! My BEST was 40...old enough to know better and young enough to LET IT ALL GO!!! Looks like your day was FABULOUS!!! (and love the shoes!)
ReplyDeleteMy best birthday was when I was 26 - I became a MOM for the first time and that has been the most life changing and wonderful experience ever! Happy Birthday again my friend.
ReplyDeleteBest birthdays were always when I was a kid. You get better presents then and no one asks you how old you are. I did laugh when I turned 40 my wife decorated my desk at work all in black. What fun life can be.
