Today (FRIDAY) is the bloggers Quilt festival!
Amy is such a genius for doing this.
I went through a load of my quilts to show you the one that I wanted to highlight...
But that was very difficult to do...
This one above, is a favorite of mine, But I wouldn't say it's VERY ME,
(as my daughter would say)
But it is a part of something I love to do....
Collaborate...
I enjoy this process because it really pushes you to think outside the box...
Try things your not used to, work within certain rules or guidelines,
and it is purely a mystery as to where it will go.
This quilt is rather like a story book to me...
It just Feels like a good story...
Shelly and I made a group of wonky trees, I took 6 and she took six.
And then we'd see what each of us do to them...
This is mine above.
I made it up as I went along. Knowing generally what I wanted to do to it..
I've been staring at it for quite sometime now...
Sometimes I wonder where the ideas come from...Why I go in a direction I do...
Mostly I just try to listen by seeing...
Is it my all time favorite?
mmm,
not sure.
frankly?
My favorite Quilts?
Are the ones that get USED...
or given away.
Got one you can donate?
Go check out the site.
You might win something fabulous!
;-)
Happy Friday people.
Enjoy it!

ReplyDeleteYou have such a wonderful quilt and top collection. I too have problems starting quilting tops I really really love because I'm afraid I'll ruin them. Glad I'm not the only one.-)
The house and tree quilt is fabulous! I also super like the third one down after that too, with the block kind of floating. Great design idea.

I love the one at the top. It is interesting to look at and I am sure it was fun to do. I love your choice of colors and the way you sort of alternated dark and light values. I can see your art background coming through!!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean, it is really hard to pick a favorite. I think sometimes, for many of us, it is the favorite one of the moment! You have lots of beauties there and I can understand why it would be difficult for you to choose just one!
ReplyDeleteLove the collaboration trees and houses. Wow you have a lot of really great UFOs. Time to finish, right? Nothing makes me happier than giving a quilt and it being loved/used.
ReplyDeleteThe quilt you featured is fun to see, but I do love the kids and dogs using the quilts pictures! You always provide great ideas and inspiration. Thank you V!
ReplyDeleteV, Your trees look so good! I luv the houses and stars you added. I forgot about my blocks. I'll get them out for MN. Get those quilts out and quilt them! You won't screw them up (and if you do, that is what a seam ripper is for.) I love your banner too! Have a fabulous day with B!
