tuesdays muses

I am in the charm swap at commonplace, and one of the ladies had this square in my pack.
Boy, they have me pegged! I loved it! made me laugh!

I love, love this Amish Quilt. I think Quilters were MODERN ARTISTS before artists were... Some of the simplest most lovely quilts from the early 1900's, even late 1800's were so Simple, clean and beautiful...

I played a bit today with these fabrics.... They look GAUDY in these pictures... the light was weird... But they are quite vibrant and fun in person... These blocks are HUGE. about 28" square. I have three of them that will probably go across mid way on the bottom of a quilt top, with some very simple stripes, on e above across the top and one perhaps across the bottom, and then LOTS & LOTS of BROWN... Yummy dark chocolate brown... Very bold.

I felt like I didn't know what to work on today... I could have worked on one of these, but I couldn't get myself to hand quilt, One I don't have backing for, and one I have no idea how I want to quilt it!

  2. I LOVE your new blocks. Not gaudy at all. That blue flower fabric is great.

The quilts don't look gaudy, I agree they are quite attractive and vibrant.
