THANKS everyone for all the comments yesterday about the sewing machine, & Ugly quilt. You guys are so helpful! SO many great ideas, and some FUN honest answers.
I got my machine fixed somewhere different than last time, and I think they actually got it right this time! It machine sews, like a dream...
Timing timing, timing... Timing is everything! I'm trying to finish up a bunch of quilt tops I have
had half done for a while now. Don't we all!
So now that my machine is working properly, maybe I can get to this one below...
LEFT --------------------RIGHT

I need some help... I've had this one sitting here for a bit and I want to finish it, but I can not decide which way to put the stripe...
I like them both... If I had more fabric I'd make one of each.. but no such luck...
Any thoughts?
LEFT pic OR RIGHT pic?

I like the right picture better...
ReplyDeletemuch more graphic to my eye and I love graphic!
Congrats to Katie!
yay for the winner!
ReplyDeleteI vote for the horizantal stripe.. (right).
I was going to suggest you do one as the front and one as the back, but since you don't have enough fabric...I think I probably prefer the horizontal row, but it's close.
ReplyDeleteAnd I like the finished version of your red and purple quilt. It's fun!
I like the right picture the best.
ReplyDeletei like the right one better.
ReplyDeletehappy day for Katie!
Okay, I'm going against the trend. I like the left better.
ReplyDeleteI like the way your other quilt turned out. All of that light took away from all of that red. Looks good!
Left....more movement and interest to me...
ReplyDeletehurray for a fixed machine and for method of choosing a winner-fun
I like the asymmetry of the right. Have you read "The Modern Quilt Workshop" by Bill Kerr and Weeks Ringle (I hope I got those names right)? Your quilts fit right in!
ReplyDeleteI see I'm clearly outvoted here, but I like the left one...too much "break" in the right one.
ReplyDeleteAnd way to go finsihing the quilt even if you don't like it!
Love the right. Can't tell you why it just pleases me more. Great looking quilt either way.
ReplyDeleteI like the picture on the right.
ReplyDeleteI like the right better. I would probably break apart the stripe at the cente seam, turn one side top to bottom. Well, I would at least look at it that way before deeciding.
ReplyDeleteI like the asymmetrical look of the right one.
ReplyDeleteright pic!
ReplyDeleteI vote LEFT (almost always).
ReplyDeleteI vote for the right pic
ReplyDeleteI like the right, the other is too.....organized or something.
ReplyDeleteI also like the way the pink quilt turned out. Interesting layout.
definitely the right one
ReplyDeleteRight pic. fun seeing so many of your quilts today! Hooray, hooray!
ReplyDeleteHave a fabo Sunday!
p.s. If you just want to borrow my book (Stitch and Flip) I'm sure we could work something out....
ReplyDeleteAgain, good Sunday. :)
