Happy Monday!

Change of weather...Change of quilts!
I had my nice dresden quit on my bed all summer, and once the weather changes, and starts to get chilly, I look forward to "Warming " up my bedroom visually. This year I finally got to put this quilt on my bed... I made this July 2010, (see old post here) This quilt was purely about color... I was obsessed with grey when grey wasn't quite popular yet.  And I had a huge collection of Kaffe shot cottons that were dying to be cut into... So, inspired by a rug I saw, I put this quilt together just to show off the fabrics. It really does warm up my room too! I love it!
I have some Jay MacCarroll crazy Habitat print pillow cases on my bed too... and used a Jennifer Paganelli PURPLE on the back.  Jackie quilted this for me all in feathers in a purple thread. It's just perfect!
Now I am ready for fall!
How about you? Are you ready for the change of seasons?

  2. I'm ready for fall and the crisp air tells me it's here. Wind has blown many of the leaves from the trees and the color isn't as vibrant this year. Must be related to our drought conditions. It's gloomy here and I wish it meant rain but only a sprinkle is in the forecast. Good day for some cozy quilting, though. :-) Finishing up a small Halloween quilt for my daughter. Good start to the week!

  3. I love the change in seasons. I could never live where the seasons don't change.
Your quilt is lovely. I need to change out the quilts on my walls. Time for a little Halloween to haunt my walls.

  5. Love your autumn quilt. Yup, I'm getting there, have a quilt with a wool batt about half quilted. Can't wait to finish and get it on the bed. Wool batts make such a cozy quilt and a dream to work with!

  6. Not ready but don't think there's a choice...hehe! Really like the quilting in the Dresden Plate! Sets off the pattern so well and gives such a cuddly look/feel. Do love the change, also! Doreen

  8. I love it, it almost has a Japanese or Asian flare ? Very nice. Does it have warmer batting ? I have been thinking about that letely. I have gotten so used to the thin cotton for hand quilting , I miss the old thick poly that gave such warmth..I imagine thickness is not a problem if you sew with machine right ?

  9. So ready: I am hopping on a plane tomorrow to visit family in Maine and admire autumn foliage. Packing a new knitted scarf and sewn wool jacket (if, *ahem*, I can finish it today). I hope it's cold there!

  11. What a pretty quilt. I recongnized the floral with the large flowers with pink and brown - the bottom right hand corner fabric in the first picture. I have that one and several companion prints to be used for some sophisticated baby quilt. Since it had gotten cooler, I have thrown on my favorite plaid flannel quilt on my bed. It has a chevron pattern. Little did I know that when you cut flannel on the bias it really stretches! The fun part is the Hawaiian printed flannel I used on back. Hawaiian printed flannel - I thought this was a bit of an oxymoron so I just had to buy it.
