MODERN BASICS Give away!


Miss Amy,

I had some fabrics just waiting to play!
It was a great way to show off some fussy cut Spring Tulip flowers!
The black on black border is my favorite!

  2. This book looks great. The quilt that really grabbed me was the one draped over a chair with an orange pillow on top of it. These patterns look like they have lots of possibilities. Thanks for the chance to win!

  3. I really am looking forward to this book. I really enjoyed the one on the bed with the three pillows, one of them being purple... not sure if you know which one i am talking about, but it was really pretty and simple looking.

  12. It's hard to choose just one, I really like them all. The one that caught my eye the most is the large block quilt that is on the bed with the three bright pillows and a tray of coffee and toast. Wow!

  17. This book is wonderful. I have a few favorites but Amazon doesn't give names. I love the last one you have pictured here and the one with the small squares. That's the top two, but there are plenty more.

  22. I don't know the name of the pattern, but it looked like a trellis with a pale aqua background and entertwined floral priny and a black which gave me the impression of a garden trellis.

  44. I've been loving the Modern Mirrors quilt from this book, but just noticed the one on the bed made with Hope Valley (I've only been sewing/quilting for 2 months, I can't believe I can identify fabrics!)! I think that may be my favorite!!

  45. Love all the quilts, but the one on the bed in your blog is the one that caought my eye and made me feel warma and fuzzy. Why? Reminds me of playing on the floor of my mothers fithchen an a small child. The 50's linolium had a similr design. would love to win

  59. I love how the same quilt can look so different when you use different fabrics! I'm not sure what it's called, but the first one I want to make is the one shown on the bed with the brown squares on top of the light colored squares.

  72. It looks like there are several great quilts in the book -- can't say that I have a specific favorite, I like them all. Love your tulips with the dark, gloomy looking outer border. Kinda reminds me of the constant gray, gloomy skies of winter here in Seattle and the promise of spring to come!

The quilt that I like (from your Amazon link) didn't have a name on the photo - it has aqua background with vertical columns of boxes sashed in brown with brown connectors. The boxes have colorful strips in them. It is hanging from a tree with a house in the background of the photo.

  112. Love your quilt - the black and white border is fantastic. Just bought a selection of black and white fat quaters for my sister for her birthday - will have to send her a link to your quilt for inspiration.
    My favourite is the blue and cream diamonds with the plate of watermelon slices in the picture - it is a fairly simple design but the fabric choice makes it stunning.
