HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
ENJOY YOUR FEAST!
I've had a fun packed few days, before my family arrived here in Seattle! A workshop and a lecture yesterday, that was just so much fun! A great group to play with! Thanks Stephanie, Opal, LeeAnn, etc. for hosting me, and a big thank you to all who came out for the events!
Wednesday I was able to hop over to Okan Arts to pick up some lovely Yukata cotton fabric. (vintage kimono fabrics!) from Patricia. I'm all excited to go home and cut them up! Ideas are swirling! Above I'm wearing a vintage kimono, a gift from Patricia... Her low ceilings are deceiving, as I look like a giant! ;-) hehe
Thanks Patricia!!
Once Michael and Beatrice arrived we went out to dinner with my
stepson and granddaughter at the W hotel... Seated across from us...
Well...
Yes, it is the THE MAN from the North Pole...
We know this because he came over and said hello...
I believe we will be seeing him bring up the end of the parade on Friday...hohoho!
;-)
Off to make our VEGAN Thanksgiving...
Yep. Tofu-rkey and some killer lentil stew!
1 cup rinsed brown lentils
1/2 tsp salt + to taste
1/2 tsp turmeric in powder form
1 medium bell pepper seeded and chopped
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup chopped tomato
1/2 tsp curry powder
1/2 tsp lime juice
For avocado salsa on top,
1/2 avocado in .5 inch cubes
1/2 cup finely diced tomatoes
1/2 tsp finely chopped cilantro
1/2 tsp lime juice
1/4 tsp fresh ground black pepper
To prepare,
Lentils, salt, turmeric and 2 cups water in pan. Cook uncovered over medium heat [presume a simmer] for 25-30 minutes. Add rest except lime and cook 10 minutes more. Add lime just before serving.
For salsa- combine ingredients all together to consistency desired and serve cold over stew.
