NEWS!!!!!

NEWS!!!!
I have news!!!

YAY!!!

First,
Can I tell you how hard it was to keep this a secret?
Incredibly hard!!!

And how much I giggled, when you (many of you)  have been emailing me, saying, "OOH! I can't make it to the Museum in Wisconsin to see your DWR's, But how about a book on them, so we can ALL see them?"

HaHa! Yeah! Great idea!

I made so many double wedding ring quilts in the last year...
7 of them in the last 6 months...(and wrote the book!)

10 patterns for my Double Wedding Rings are inside, including Double Edged Love, and Greatest Possible Trust! ( Which is on the cover!) I can not wait to share these quilts with you, I hope they inspire you even more to think outside the box! (...or outside the wedding ring!)

So NOW, I can tell you,  the book is coming out in January 2015!!!!

That is not very far away!!!  Wahoo!

********************************************************************************
Book Blurb:

Get ready for new adventures in conventional piecing with celebrated quilter Victoria Findlay Wolfe. Create stunning Double Wedding Ring quilts with breathtaking innovations on the classic pattern. With full-size patterns for 10 quilts, the book will teach you the Double Wedding Ring basics. After you’ve mastered curved foundation piecing, try your hand at Victoria’s unique fabric slashing and “Made-Fabric” methods—it’s easier than you think! You’ll feel liberated as you improvise on her designs, with full instruction for some quilts and others that invite your creative discovery. Read the stories that inspired each of Victoria’s designs, and then take inspiration from the artist at work in her studio, with photography of her creative process and 3 bonus quilts to jump start your own art.

********************************************************************************

I just finished quilting yet another DWR, and have two more on my design walls... I must be seriously crazy... Crazy yes, But gosh, I am having so much fun with  these Double Wedding Rings, That I CAN NOT STOP!

Please come up to the Museum to see the quilts, they are so much fun to see in person... A collection of them will also be at the International Quilt Study Center, March - June 2015, so that will be another opportunity, and even in Melbourne, Australia in 2016! WAHOO! And maybe a few other places, yet to be determined... I am extremely proud of these quilts...

I do hope you will love the book. This has been a "surprise adventure" even for me... You could not have told me I'd have so much fun with one pattern...I would not have believed you.

Squeal!

Soon, I will be sorting out pre-orders, through my own website...  Stay tuned!!!

  46. Exciting, indeed. I would SO love to see these quilts in person, I know pictures never do a quilt justice. But for now, I'll just be looking forward to your book. You undersell yourself and your quilts by "just" calling them modern, they are SO MUCH more than that. They are perhaps the most innovative, creative, brave, and amazing quilts I have ever seen. They are so out of the box, yet so rooted in tradition that it's hard to believe that they can even be both at the same time. I'm in awe.
