2013-2014

So the calendar flips…  I actually really dislike new years… I am happy to climb into bed and wait for it to pass. You too?

As a mom, my year is really based on September through September… I bet a few of you can relate to that!

Resolutions… I try to live my whole life with the main goal to be HAPPY and to share and give back. It's not a yearly reminder, it's a daily reminder.

So perhaps I take today as a day to remind myself, make, create, and help others. Love my friends and family, share with those who need, keep an open mind, let opportunity come my way, and be receptive to it when it comes to decide if it will keep the balance, with health included.

I hope these things can come your way as well.
I still have time to sew in 2013… I best get to it! ;-)
That is one thing, I know, that brings me joy,
that and…
sitting around the fire with my hubby and daughter…
while enjoying some chocolate,
and maybe a a dog on each leg, too.
(BTW: No news on Jenny Egg… more tests. hoping for some answers friday…)

Happy New Year!
JOY AND BIG FAT HUGS to each of you!
~V

  6. Happy New Years to you. You are an inspiration in many ways to many people. In my life you remind me to commit to giving to charity for things that are dear to me, you remind me to have faith in me and trust in my play and you emphasize family which I also find very important. Please keep inspiring others by living your life wonderfully.

  7. Happy new year!!
Thank you for your nice comment! All of those things are so important and are why I think I can find the joy. My life is good when I remember to help others, and keep family number one. Everything else is icing on the cake! (Or a beautiful quilt! :-)

  8. Growing up in NYC, I developed a dislike for NYE. Amateur Night. I try to live a purposeful life with lots of community service here in CT. I don't put much stock in the change of the calendar but I will use the momentum to start an exercise regime now that my fitbit and I are acquainted!
Tonight I am FMQ on my rescue quilt. You advised me to "quilt the dog out of it" since it wasn't pieced expertly and so I have been busy. Not sure of the pattern - it's a variation on a wedding ring maybe but I think it's silk (gorgeous color) and I couldn't leave it in the thrift shop. I've stitched New Year's Eve 2013 and other pertinent info into the border. Maybe I'll share when it's done?
Continued prayers for Jenny Egg and all of you. Best of everything to you all in 2014!

  13. Happy New Year! Having a nice day with DH and daughter, we went out for a nice bike ride, made a nice
dinner, playing scrabble trying to stay awake until midnight. It comes whether we are awake or not :0).

I hope 2014 brings us all good health and happiness!

I was asleep when I heard fireworks and people yelling Happy New Year at midnight ~ I said the same to my kitties and went right back to sleep! Had a glorious first walk of 2014 this morning and ready to meet the day!
Thinking of your sweet pup ~ Jenny Egg and hope she's feeling better quick!

  18. Happy New Year to you and your family (including pups), Victoria!

Quiet evening at home with my husband last night to wrap up the old year, then lights out a few minutes before 10pm ... woke up bright eyed at 6am this morning, eager for 2014. I'll take a fresh start over a late party any time!

    Here's to a fabulous, quilt-filled 2014 for everyone.

  19. I don't mind the start of a new year. I think of it as a fresh start. Maybe I'll be able to get a few more quilts finished this year, lose the 10 lbs. I gained after knee surgery, spend a little more time with my non-quilting friends (they get neglected). Last night we spent the evening with friends we've known for 50 yrs. It was really special to see 2014 in with dear friends around us. I hope you have a Happy New Year, too!
