My trunk Show/Demo was on my process, finding your inspiration, using up what you have and trying new things. Here I am showing a bag, (above) made from a simplicity pattern, using my leftover scraps from the quilt I made for Newcastle Fabrics (below)
I was also talking about PLAYING with our tools, Here is used Darlene Zimmerman's Hexagon template from easy quilting. This was the Shirtings from Newcastle fabrics as well... I just love how that quilt turned out. Great fabrics!
How making something from nothing can lead you in your search to creative inspiration... Making, Looking at what you've made, and finding inspiration in front of you, and letting it unfold into your own unique creations.
My Mother will be happy to see this quilt. Here's your quilt Mom!
Thank you Michele Muska, Darlene Zimmerman, Mimi Shimp for hosting me in your booth!
By the way...
All is well with my hubby and Boo in NYC. They are fortunate to have POWER, and lucky for Boo, her school does NOT have power... so no school. Well, and no subway either, so it makes it hard to get downtown! Now, just hoping they get Laguardia open ASAP so I can fly home Friday... Out at our house on Long island we had five trees down around our house, and thankfully none hit our house. so it means, our wood pile will be stocked.
Feeling very grateful tonight!
Wonderful quilts, thanks for the great inspiration!
ReplyDeleteFabulous quilts, I just posted my BASICS top. It's a lot of work to quilt in your style! So glad to have an update on Boo and DH, I'm sure you will be home on Friday.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that your family is OK, looks like you
ReplyDeletedid a stellar job at market. Congrats ! you deserve
it for the great work you do.
It all looks like a lot of fun, and congratulations on your book too! So glad to hear you and your family all doing OK with no serious damage.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear your family is okay in NY. I hate losing trees, but at least there was no major damage from them.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear your hubby and Boo are ok and the house was missed by the trees! Looks like you are having just the best time! I love the big yellow star quilt in the third picture. I saw Laguardia on the news last evening. First they have to get rid of all the water on the runways and then pick up all the debris - tough job. I will be crossing my fingers that you can get home on Friday.
ReplyDeleteThanks for keeping us updated on your family and property, I've been concerned about them.
ReplyDeleteLove the quilts and pics of you at market. Love your mom's quilt.

ReplyDeleteWowee! You look like you had such a great adventure. Those quilts are so gorgeous and inspiring. I really need to go make some fabric again. I just finished a scrappy log cabin quilt top (sewing frantically in case the power went out) and have a lot of scraps all sorted. I'm glad the family is safe and warm.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear that everything is okay at home. Very happy for you.
ReplyDeleteLoving all the gorgeous quilts behind you, the dress looks fabulous!! And that's coming from a non dress wearing person!! Glad to hear your family are ok at home and your houses are still ok and there, saw it on the news over here and felt so sorry for everybody, cannot imagine what it must have been like to witness that.
