Big day here... Humphrey is about to have surgery. He's a good old elephant who has been here since day one... He has lost his pale lavender complexion, but that doesn't stop him from being loved. This will be Humphrey's second surgery in his 12 year existence... You can see the scars from the first surgery about 6 years ago.
Yes, he's over do for this surgery... He's also in major need of a sponge bath, but that has been outlawed by his owner."He may just fall apart, " owner is quoted as saying.
All things are ready for his operation. Although one knows, there is no way to recover that once plush, fuzziness of his skin, we do know he will feel much better having the loved holes sewn back together...
This surgery may take awhile.. Wish him well!To be continued...
It looks like he's gone to the right doctor. I love how you've honored his modesty, too. I'm guessing he'll have a successful recovery, and look forward to more news. Best wishes to all involved...
ReplyDeleteToo funny. We have a regular surgery schedule for the dog toys. They love to sit while I stitch each one with heavy quilting thread and a big needle. Then when they are out of recovery, I toss the squeakie to a dog and they love him all over again!

ReplyDeleteI hope Humphrey recovers from surgery quite well and says......Humph, that wasn't so bad after all. ;-) I've done a bit of surgery on a several much-loved stuffed animals for my kids and even one for our dog. LOL!

Humphry is in my thoughts and prayers and will make it through, to see many more years to come. By the time B is in college he can become a patchwork bear...smiles.
ReplyDeleteHumphrey will now be my role model. If I can be that loved I won't care how many scars I accumulate either. But, I don't envy the pressure on the surgeon.

ReplyDeleteWe have 'Loejs' still going strong at 11 years even if he is still being cuddled and hugged every single night still. I do sneak in a gentle handwash once in a while... But sneaking is neccesary :)
