What do to do with these?
My new "Obsession" color is NAVY/indigo blue... I feel a dark quilt coming in my future! I went off on an tangent last week when I walked into City quilter.. I went looking for navy and then I found all these other great pieces that I had to have. Now, will they all live in one quilt? Will I chop them to shreds and start from scratch? Will I dive into my scrap bins and sort out a bin full of colors that I want to use and just start MAKING?
MAYBE!
Although I am itching to start another XMAS quilt, perhaps I will just get these quilts quilted first...
And PONDER my next move....
hmmm, I could dream up 10 more quilts by then!
I best get my sketch book handy!
Start a new quilt or finish an old?
What do you think?
I always want to finish up an old one, but I always end up starting a new one.
ReplyDeleteI think you'll probably do both! I like your dicentra (or lady in the bath) - ours is out now too. Your new batch of fabrics looks delicious, I've just bought a gorgeous Amy Butler navy (Water Bouquet Midnight).
ReplyDeleteFinish one first dream of the next one then reward yourself with a new project!
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to finish up some stuff in process, so you HAVE to start a new one for me. :)
ReplyDeleteI don't know V. I started 2 new quilts yesterday!
ReplyDeleteYou know my answer is "finish the old"!!! I can't wait to see the birds finished!
ReplyDeleteAmber and I were just talking about bleeding hearts yesterday. They are beautiful.
It's spring...all things beginning again. I vote start a new quilt :)
ReplyDeleteI say finish one UFO for every two new quilts you start.......LOL!
ReplyDeleteBeth in AL
Now that is a hard choice. Good luck! Whatever you do will be beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou might as well focus on "finishing up an old one" because the new ones will insist you start on them anyway. That way the old one will move a teeny bit closer to done before distractions sway you!
ReplyDeleteBoth, one day for one to finish them.Happy sewing!
ReplyDeleteI have to go with how the spirit moves on any given day.....who knows what happens when I get in my sewing room? As much as I love finishing a quilt, planning a new one is so much fun......think it uses different parts of the brains....finishing and beginning?
ReplyDeleteIt's all fun!
Happy sewing
It is the start of a new week, of course you are starting a new quilt. You are YOU after all. Iknow it will be fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI say finish the old and start totally fresh... totally fresh with nothing else on the plate.
ReplyDeleteJust being a bit selfish here, I vote that you start quilting the neutral one that you made in Alabama. I so love that one. But then, you could quilt a while, take a break and dig into the new fabrics and create a while. Yummy to all of them.
ReplyDeleteIt is spring. Time for new growth!
ReplyDeleteI say go with whatever feels right at the time. If you chose to start a new quilt, the UFOs will still be there to work on later. Just enjoy whatever you are doing at the time.
ReplyDeleteGiven how many little stacks of fabrics I have just waiting for their "inner quilt" to be released (to say nothing of the UFO's) I really shouldn't even be typing this comment...however, when you enter your sewing area--go with what you 'feel' like working on (any other may be more of a 'chore' or, at least, not as much fun. Hugs, Doreen
ReplyDeleteFinish one, start planning another, then start a new one! I love bleeding hearts, planted one last year and I can't wait for it to get big and showy.
