Amy has the Blogger's Quilt festival up again! It was a toss up on my favorite quilt for the past year, but I think...
My Favorite quilt has to be the TINY DANCER. These were blocks I made, and also blocks given to me for my New'BEE quilt bee, I run on my website 15minutesplay.com.
This quilt did not come easy to me. I had several other layouts, and a complete other quilt top which I then hated and cut to "swiss cheese" to save it. You can see the journey here.
Sometimes the struggle is the best part of a quilt. I love the journey they can take you on and lead you to places you might not have ever gotten to had you sat down and drew it out first. It's an adventure I gladly take. Thanks Amy for another great Blogger's quilt festival!

I could spend a long time looking at all of the terrific fabrics and I love the name.
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt! I love to watch your work on both your blogs, although I seldom stop to comment. Thank you for keeping me inspired.
ReplyDeleteFabulous quilt! It really proves that sometimes it's worth it to go that extra few miles to make it great.
ReplyDeleteAmazing! I love seeing the process that takes you to the end.
ReplyDeleteSometimes the struggle is the best part. And I love that thru blogging we get to see how other quilters attack problems - makes us all better. This is a great quilt!!
ReplyDeleteThis is brilliant. So very you.
ReplyDeleteI just love this quilt! The colors, the name, everything.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic selection of stars and I know someone who'd love those colourful bold fabrics too - thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteI've got a selection of bee blocks accumulating - then I've got to sort out how to 'show' them - maybe it will be ready for the autumn festival
What I love in all your quilts is how you take crazy colours and shapes together, of which I would say,'that'll never go together' and then it comes out fabulous! it's a real talent and you are very talented!
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty cool! Funny how what you start with is not always what you'll end up with...
ReplyDeleteSo much to look at - I love quilts have a lot of different fabrics in them. Very, very beautiful. I especially like that bird up there. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's not obvious that it took a struggle to make this so free form and organic! It looks totally exuberant. Love the triangles dancing on the edges. Thanks for sharing your quilt's story :)
ReplyDeletebold and brilliant!
ReplyDeleteCheck out my blog if you can...

ReplyDeleteYou have a great sense of style (long time reader - not a great commenter) and it really shines in this quilt. Beautiful!
No one likes to talk much about the struggles, but they can be quiet instructive. I think this quilt is proof that giving up should not be on our list of options.
