Yesterday I spent time chain piecing my HST's...
I realized that ,
ONE WOUND BOBBIN of thread,
sewn into HST's til it ran out is equal 200 3" HST'S!
or also, the length of my apartment!
Keeping in measuring....
(because this is very useful information...LOL)
Still laughing.....I love that you measure Jenny Egg! Your piecing is looking great! Love all that orange!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun post! The orangey background fabrics really are making this HST project sing!
ReplyDeleteI think Jenny Egg is just the right size - what breed is she - I have one that looks just the same and measures about the same called Snickers - seriously yummy stuff coming our of your machine too!
ReplyDeleteYou had me in stitches! Love it, Your dog is just too cute too.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! Those sparks of blue really make it sparkle.
ReplyDeleteI find it just fascinating how that blue pops in this quilt. It absolutely gives it life! Genius!
ReplyDeleteYour art training is showing with the blue and orange combo.
ReplyDeleteDH thinks the blue and orange HST's on Good Bye My Fancy give it a very Indian touch. Pueblo/Piute style. I just think it's amazing.
Nice way to measure by Jenny-eggs instead of feet.
Butterflies at sunset?? Orange is a perfect neutral, isn't it. You are a patient woman indeed!
ReplyDeleteOrange is a wonderful neutral the way YOU have done it!
ReplyDeleteHow fun is we measured everything by quilt blocks! Jenni Egg is the perfect HST size.
ReplyDeleteLove all the HST's (and the metrics displayed!). I need to put on a good recorded book and spend a day doing that myself! Your progress is inspiring.
ReplyDeleteIn stitches,
Teresa :o)
A girl after my own heart! I do love some numbers. What a great way to teach measurements.
ReplyDeleteI heard quilt designer Trudie Hughes speak once (very funny) and she said her personal record for chain piecing with an empty bobbin was 45 minutes! What's yours? :) We've all done it...
ReplyDeleteLove the colors...and the helping is just adorable.
ReplyDeleteWow! Those HST's look terrific on your dark floor. A possible stenciled design as room divider???
ReplyDeleteThat is truly some chain piecing!
ReplyDeleteI love it...hmmmm...the ideas...you make HST's look fun...perhaps that will become a way to take a break from my quilting chores...smiles..
ReplyDeleteKeep chugging along. You can do it!!!
ReplyDeleteLove it. Orange is my new favorite color. Can't wait to see the quilt. Hugs
ReplyDeleteyou measuring your little dog gave me a chuckle. .....too cute!!
ReplyDeleteSo fun! What a lot of HSTs... love all the ORANGE!
ReplyDeleteI always do a square , draw a line on the diagonal and sew 1/4 inch either side of it then cut thro,. = no stretching on the cross of the material
ReplyDeleteIt's looking good , your quilt
Oh, what a fun post. I love it!
ReplyDeletetriangle quilt is looking great. as always, I swoon over your loft. sigh.
ReplyDeleteI love that second photo (and your loft). Keep counting!
