Sullivan's EDGE BLOG HOP!

SULLIVANS EDGE RULER BLOG HOP!

Are you a gadget person?
I know a few of you are!

Pat asked me a while back to try out the Sullivans Edge Ruler.
Whats so cool about these rulers? They have a Diamond Carbide edge so
when you cut with the ruler,It sharpens your rotary cutter! How brilliant is that?
I tried out two sizes, And Besides the scratchy noise, they seem to work well.
I love the handy dandy sizes they came in... the 4.5'' square, I use constantly.
You can find the ''SULLIVANS EDGE'' rulers in most quiltshops and JoAnn's.

Pat asked us to answer these questions: read carefully and ponder
the questions, if you want to win a ruler OF YOUR CHOICE! you a have
to leave me a great answer to one of these questions.

If I look in your fridge what would I find...

I'm afraid to say, nothing terribly interesting...

BUT, if you go to my freezer, there you will find the yummy stuff...
Ben and Jerry's, Peet's Coffee, and frozen zucchinni bread...

OK that still wasn't very exciting.... But I do buy fresh every day so I
don't keep a lot in my fridge....

NEXT question:

What is your favorite TV show of all time and why?

I would probably have to say MASH.
I watched that show for years of TV and I recall watching the finale
episode and crying my eyes out... I was a teenager then...
And I found it very moving, funny and serious all at once.
Klinger, radar , Pierce and Honeycut...
Never mind the fact that I run into Alan Alda at the post office frequently...

And lastly,
If Hollywood made a movie about your life, whom would you like to play you?

Egads... never ever thought about that one!
How about, Hillary Swank... She can do the
tom boy act prettywell, that suits me
and she can rock short hair and long hair.
Been there, and done that!

So. Wanna win a Sullivans EDGE ruler?
ANY ONE OF YOUR CHOICE?

Just answer one of the above questions, the funnier the better...
and Monday  9a.m. I will pick a winner.
Easy peasy!

  2. I, like you, was/is a huge MASH fan! I was blubbering fool during the last episode.

Love, love, LOVE your recipe LOL

  3. In my refrigerator you would find Cheese, all different kinds, I love cheese, who has time to eat, just grab cheese and a loaf of bread pop in oven on 450 degrease and you have cheese toast, or cheese sandwich cause I would rather be on the sewing machine than eat but you can put it beside your machine and eat while you sew. Joan Crawford would play me, and my favorite show of all times would be the Waltons....sure would love to win a ruler. thanks

  4. If you looked in my fridge, what would you find? Possibly a science experiment evolving into who knows what!

    ReplyDelete
  5. In my refrigerator, you would find, a big old mess...but there is almond milk, coffee - pre-brewed so I don't have to think too much when I first get up...just pour a cup and microwave for 90 seconds, henna (don't ask!) limes, and some cut up watermelon.

Fave tv show? Yikes - Oh I know The Carol Burnett Show...and I really wish it was available on Netflix streaming. The Went With the Wind episode is priceless -(and on YouTube)

Who would play me? Well I would love it to be George Clooney so I could have an "image makeover" LOL..but more likely they would get someone who looks really geeky - for the realism factor. LOL

  6. I am still laughing over the recipe - I must admit, I am fresh out of elephants in my fridge! I do have however, Almond milk, fruit, and bagels, and oh yes, can't forget the hubby's Pepsi! Sullivan rulers are super and I could sure use another, like that 4 1/2" one!!

  7. In my fridge leftovers. Hubby and I both come from large families and can only cook for a crowd. Upside of leftovers, you don't have to cook everyday, just reheat. Downside of leftovers, an occasional stinky science experiment when something is overlooked or pushed to the back. Anything questionable but not fuzzy or stinky becomes a treat for the big dog.

  8. If you look inside my refrigerator you will find it full of healthy vegetables and homegrown foods. We just went to the grocery store yesterday and I live with my mother. She gardens so we have lots of homegrown vegetables and fruits. My brother is a rancher so we have homegrown beef. And,other relatives give us fish, eggs, etc. Living on a farm and working hard has it's advantages (forget elephant, cable, DSL and good cell phone coverage though). Thanks for the giveaway!

I would love to have one of these Sullivan rulers, they sound wonderful.

Hmmm, who to play me... as a younger me I would say Madonna, but then I really think about it and nope, it would have to go with Sharon Stone... yea, it would have to be Sharon!

  13. Love your elephant stew recipe! LOL
What you'd find in my fridge and freezer are items to make my new addiction ~ smoothies. Lots of fresh fruit, lots of milk, lots of vanilla yogurt, some frozen fruits, and ice cream (OK that one is for the shakes I love LOL).
Can't wait to give one if these rulers a whirl!

  15. I, too, was a complete blubbering idiot during the final episode of MASH. I video-taped that episode on the same VHS tape as my daughter's sonogram when I was pregnant with her. That's loyalty, I tell ya! So M*A*S*H would have to be my favorite, too. Thanks!

My favorite show of all time is.....changes a lot actually, currently I am into Smallville, but I we used to watch Law and Order A LOT and when little I loved Roseanne. Varying mix eh?!

Jennifer Aniston comes to mind first to be in a movie. Sure there are others though;)

I am thinking I would like to try one of those rulers.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I'd pick Sally Field to play me. Course I look nothing like her, but just love her work. Love to win a ruler too.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Absolutely MASH. Still watch reruns if I catch them. I adored Law and Order. Denny Crane!
In the refrig: biga, lots of bags of coffee beans, bread-baking stuff, weird stuff the the Hubs likes.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Favorite TV show, Boston Legal. Loved Allen and Denny Crain, you never knew what they would do next. Best one liners ever in a show.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I do love M*A*S*H, but another favorite of both DH and I was Baa Baa Black Sheep. We watched it all the time. I really miss that show!!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Favorite show of all time - Friends! I am always watching it when they rerun it, I should just buy it already!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I have to say I would want Rachel Carpani to play me in my movie (which I would write so that it is interesting) because she is a great actress and she played in one of my favorite shows - McLeods Daughters. And she is beautiful because in my movie so am I.

  25. A Saturday night ritual at my house was Hee-Haw. Can't believe I just said that out loud.
    Love the ruler idea.

Favorite tv show? Have two, MAD MEN and Project Runway!

  31. My refrigerator is a mess but you would find at least 2.5 gallons of tea. My husband loves his tea! I'd love to win one of these rulers. Thanks.

  32. In my fridge...water, milk, almond milk (a lot of comments said this), spinach, a bite of homemade apple pie, bologna, and lots of condiments. Yep.
I would love to win a ruler. Thanks for the chance!!

    ReplyDelete
  33. My favorite TV show of all time is Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman. Yes, I get made fun of all of the time because of it, but it's nostalgic. I remember going out to eat every Saturday night with my parents and grandparents. We stayed at my grandparents house on the weekends and we always rushed back from eating out to catch the latest episode. Walker Texas Ranger was on before or after...I can't remember now. My sister recently had a class where Walker Texas Ranger was mentioned and only a few people in the class, including her, knew who he was. What is happening to this world?!

    ReplyDelete
  34. In my fridge, there's a big container of gumbo, a lot of yogurt, some weird apple pie flavored cheese (it sounded good at the time), home-canned ginger carrots, some eggs from the neighbors house, and some hairy looking carrots that I forgot were there. The door is filled with various condiments, jams, sourdough starter, and a salad dressing that no one seems to like.

  35. Telling my age here, but use to love Hootenanny - now it is Castle, mainly because the two main characters have been so perfectly cast and it just works. Ruler size would be the 4.5 x 37 for squaring up - I love that and thank you for the reviews. Judy C in NC

  37. In my refrigerator, you will find:
Milk, Instant Yeast, Butter, 365 Lemon Lime soda, Brita Pitcher of water, eggs, pure maple syrup, condiments of all kinds, a big jar of Claussen's pickles, cheese, cheese, and more cheese!

I wonder what I could make using only what I have in the refrigerator? ewwww. *shudders* I don't want to think about it now. LOL. :-D

And this reminds me, I have to go grocerying today!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Love the recipe-will add it to my must try list! LOL! I was always a big fan of The Love Boat-I know! I know! Corny as all get-out, but I loved Saturday night TV way back when.

    ReplyDelete
  39. What can be found in my fridge? First and foremost - flavored coffee creamer. Got wake up and I may as well do it with flavors I like. Always butter, always Parmesan cheese and eggs so I can have the back up meal my father in law called Past budda. We always thought he heard his Italian wrong and that is why he named it that. Then there are 1/2 used bottles of marinades and sauces. My husband thinks I will use them again, but I will just sneak them in the trash when he is not looking. A few leftovers that I watch and won't eat. We just finished the leftovers of prosciutto and provolone stuffed chicken breasts that I would eat. That and the required mustard, mayo and catsup. There are a couple of bottles wine and a few bottles of beer that are probably skunky since they were purchased for guests and we don't drink beer. There are snacking cheeses. No food to cook - time to grocery shop - maybe tomorrow, that is what restaurants are for.

    ReplyDelete
  40. In my fridge you would find leftover ham that will now become bean soup, lots of tomatoes from the garden, milk and of course my hubbies beer!
    Great giveaway!

  42. I always loved Mash and can't understand why they never show repeats over her in the UK. My all time favourite TV show though has to be the Swedish version of Wallander, particularly series one.

  43. Hey, we have the same recipe for elephant stew. lol

I have another you might like since you must have a dessert to go with that stew right?

    Best Rum Cake Ever
    1 or 2 quarts rum
    baking powder
    1 C butter
    1 tsp soda
    1 tsp sugar
    lemon juice
    2 large eggs
    brown sugar
    1 C dried fruit
    nuts

Before you start, sample the rum to check for quality. Good, isn't it?
Now go ahead. Select a large mixing bowl, measuring cup, etc.

Check the rum again. It must be just right.
To be sure rum is of the highest quality, pour one level cup of rum into a glass and drink it as fast as you can. Repeat.

With an electric mixer, beat 1 cup butter in a large fluffy bowl. Add 1 seaspoon of thugar and beat again. Meanwhile, make sure that the rum is of the finest quality--try another cup. Open second quart, if necessary.

Add 2 large leggs, 2 cups fried druit and beat till high. If druit gets stuck in beaters, just pry it loose with a drewscriver. Sample the rum again, checking for conscisticity. Next sift 3 cups of pepper or salt (it really doesn't matter which).

Sample the rum again. Sift 1/2 pint lemon juice. Fold in chopped butter and strained nuts.
Add one babblespoon of brown thugar, or whatever color you can find. Wix mell.
Grease oven and turn cake pan to 350 gredees. Now pour whole mess into the coven and ake.
Check the rum again, and bo to ged.
(from an old family type spiral bound cookbook I bought years ago)

To answer one of the questions: I have not gone grocery shopping in about three weeks so it's getting pretty bare in the fridge around here. We did manage to get some fresh milk and we'd run out of butter yesterday so that's good. Otherwise we've been eating alot of leftovers since I am still not able to cook for less than a small army. You would think I could by now since the last of our four boys moved out a few years back. I guess I feel subconsiously that I need to keep in practice in case they all move back home again. lol It's a good thing that hubby likes my cooking or all those leftovers might be feeding the local wildlife in the landfill somewhere although I doubt they'd complain either. ha Of course, if I make a few of those rum cakes we may not care what's in that fridge eh?

  44. I have a secret passion for Say Yes to the Dress. I love seeing all of the beautiful bridal gowns.

    ReplyDelete
  45. OK, if you looked in my refrigerator (We always called it the icebox when I was growing up!!), you would think it was an ordinary refrig except I keep a few flower bulbs (narcissus) just in case someone asks me what I have in my fridge!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Right now there is a lovely bunch of shriveled up rosemary sitting in the deli drawer. High hopes of making rosemary foccaia never seemed to materialize. However, if asked I will claim that I am dehydrating this hearb for later use...yeah, that's the ticket.
I would love to try out the new Sullivan rulers. Sounds like a great combination of practicality and efficiency.

  47. I never missed Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman, but right now my favourite show is Unforgettable. I wish I had her memory. Thanks for the generous giveaway. Hope I'm lucky!

  49. Oh my - I love Peets coffee!! The best coffee ever! I was just thinking about how I have to clean out my fridge!!! Especially the door holding all the "condiments"...I'm sure some of those need to go.... but just looked and I find leftover spagetti for lunch, a thawing pork roast for tonight, and lots of yogurt, juice, lactose free milk...
not real exciting huh? Well, except for the elephant stew leftovers.....

  50. I have a new refrigerator and beause I am not home a lot, it is not always full. To keep it running efficiently, I keep toilet paper in it.

  51. Once someone followed me around in a store and I finally stopped and looked at her and then she asked if I was Gwyneth paltrow, though I don't see it, lol. Won't mention how many times someone thought they were on candid camera and my husband was really Ed Begley;) So if they ever made a movie of our boring life, that is who would play us.

  53. OH, my...my frig is completely packed. Yesterday was my birthday...so I got a free burger for lunch...which was way too big for me but I ate the whole thing anyway...kept the fries for my hubby to finish so that's in the frig. Then my husband took me to dinner...he ordered so much food so that he could fill up on his "card" to get $20 off the next time. Of course, I was still full from lunch. We took a lot of food home and that's in the frig too. I count 9 containers of left overs!! A nice surprise in another container is the chocolate covered pears from my niece. Yep, the frig is full! as well as my stomach!

    ReplyDelete
  54. My fridge is filled with basics, free range eggs from my chickens, yogurt, grapes, 1/2 squash, milk, butter. What is not in there and I wish was are leftovers so I wouldn't have to decide what to cook for dinner tonight.

  68. In my fridge you would find lots of cheese (which makes sense cause I'm lactose intolerant, but refuse to conform), YUMMY cookie dough, lots of booze, and some rotten green onions that I will now throw away! I grow enough cultures at work so I don't need them in my fridge too! A while back you could have found a remote in the fridge...for some reason my husband set it down in there to grab something and forgot about it! Oops.

    ReplyDelete
  69. YOU are a nut! LOVE the elephant recipe - if I ever make it, I'll be sure to send you a plane ticket to my home.

The only actress born to play me in a real life movie would be Angelina Jolie. She and I are SO alike - from her good looks, great body and our talent for high adventure. She and I have taken shooting lessons from the same sniper team - we could even be considered sisters. This was an easy choice ;)

    ReplyDelete
  70. What a fun question! I got my coworkers thinking of their faves too...I love a good drama (I would include MASH in that group), loved the old Perry Mason shows; love West Wing - one of the best-written/acted shows ever; but for pure entertainment and eye candy, you can't beat Magnum PI! A good drama AND Tom Selleck, what more could anyone want??? Thanks for the fun diversion!

    ReplyDelete
  71. Oh my - can't wait to try out the Elephant Stew! I've been looking for the perfect recipe to try out my new Kerosene Fire Pit. Really hoping I don't need to add the rabbits because they can be pretty hard to find this time of year :~}

Favorite TV Show all time - would HAVE to be Golden Girls!!! Has there ever been a more divine show? Comedy, friendship, family, real issues, and real people. I can sit and watch reruns every night and never get tired of those ladies.

    ReplyDelete
  72. We are big fans of Mash also. Right now though we are watching the series of Bones.

    ReplyDelete
  73. In my fridge you'd always find lots of full fat milk! my children drink gallons of the stuff!

    ReplyDelete
  74. What would you find in my fridge??? Sometimes it's so scary, I forget that I have leftovers and can't recognize what it once was. My hubby bought me a magnet that says "If it moves, don't touch it"!! Needless to say, that's on my fridge!

    ReplyDelete
  75. favorite TV? I'm a Scifi nut so I would have to say any of the Star trek shows

  76. I'm running to the store right now to pick up some elephant - that stew recipe sounds fab. My favorite TV show... dare I admit it? The Gilmore Girls. Oh I loved that Lorelei. 78. Right now my frig has about a million condiments and no real food to put them on. I think there is a small amount of artichoke salad in there too. Oh and mixers to make a sea breeze cocktail, but alas I am out of vodka. It's quite pathectic actually. You could starve at my house. Thak God for take out! hehehe.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Favourite show of all time - Gilmour Girls. I would watch it all day everyday.
I love this new ruler line. I need one of my own.

    ReplyDelete
  80. What's in my frig? Well, right now, not a whole lot - probably the funniest thing (or perhaps it is just the worst thing) is a jar of capers which I really need to throw out since its been there for far too long!

  81. I usually cook extra and freeze the remainder, so I can create quick frozen meals for myself, but right nown my freezer are ziploc containers full of skinless tomatoes. I have no containers left for actual cooked food.

    ReplyDelete
  82. My favorite TV show would have to be Dallas... I don't know if it was the period in my life or what but that has been the only show that I made an appointment with myself to watch. I think it was I was so poor as a single mom and it made me feel good to see these rich people have worse problems than me...... still poor that is why I would love to win one of these rulers..... but I have a much richer life with husband and another child.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Little House on the prairie has to be a favorite, with MASH a close second. Little House was a special evening with my children watching it, so the event was more important than the show, although it was a good family show. In the fridge? Milk, 93 different condiments, and nothing to eat!

    ReplyDelete
  84. Many years ago there was a British TV show called Doctor In The House. It was filled with that unique British humor, and it was about these bumbling doctors. Some of the stunts they pulled were just out of this world. If you never saty it you have really missed something!

    ReplyDelete
  85. I loved watching MASH back in the day!! As for a person to play me in the movie, Sandra Bullock from Miss Congeniality....I'm the type of person that would be struttin' her stuff out of an airplane hanger and then totally trip!!

    ReplyDelete
  86. My favorite TV show right now (and topping the all time list (so far)) is Psych! I love the characters and writing for the show and of course, spotting the Pineapple.

    ReplyDelete
  87. I've said this since I was about 15.....if they ever made a movie of my life, it would be Valerie Bertinelli that would play me.....cuz we practically look like twins! I was in high school when her show was out, and we even had some of the same clothes.... exactly! Sheesh! Of course, now that she's all skinny and cute again, I'd have to do the same, just to make it realistic! Can't have a hot babe playing a chunky chick's role! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  88. In my fridge, there are a distressingly large number of half-empty jars which are probably all health hazards, butter, milk, a tin of condensed milk (for emergencies) and a lot of wine (for more emergencies). There is also a rather swish metal Parmesan grater which I bought in Rome...sadly, no Parmesan in it.
    Would love the 37x4.5 ruler.

  89. HI:

I guess I want to win so I have to answer one of the questions. Well, I don't want a movie made about me. I like to stay under the radar. But I do have a favorite TV show and that would be Law and Order, it is always on and now there are so many different departments always something to watch. Always seem to turn it on so I must love it right!!!

thanks for the reminder to win!!!

    cathy

  90. I loved MASH also! My husband and I watched every show and now own the DVD's! Still love it! I would love to have Angie Harmon--Rizzoli, of Rizzoli and Isles fame to play me in a movie! Love her quick tongue in cheek humor and quick wit; same way I play my day! Would love to win a ruler!

    ReplyDelete
  91. I think my favorite sitcom of all times is "Cheers." I love the way everyone in the bar was a misfit, but they all managed to find a place where they were accepted.

    ReplyDelete
  92. I would have Sandra Bullock play me. She & I are totally quirky. I have put Elephant stew on the menu for next week....company is coming! Thanks for the chance to win one of these fabulous rulers

  93. In my fridge is heaven in a jar - Smucker's blueberry Simply Fruit! Slap that on some on my homemade Greek yogurt and I am happier than a pig in slop!

My favorite all time TV show is Miami Vice. I have almost all of the shows on tape when they were first aired! Don Johnson was hot! I loved the shoot outs with the bad guys, the beautiful houses and people, the ocens scenes, and the music.

Nobody in there right mind would play me in a movie. It would ruin their career! My life is pretty darn boring - humm - unless they wanted to make a move to market to insomniacs!

    ReplyDelete
  94. I have left over homemade enchiladas, pizza and all kinds of salad makings. I also have strange pens that must be kept refrigerated to write on cake frosting.

As for my favorite show, it's The Office. I hated it at first, but my daughter liked it and I grew to like it also. It's fun to sit and laugh with her.

The actress that show play me is Kate Hudson. She's such a cutie.

    ReplyDelete
  95. In my fridge you find yoghurt. Plain yoghurt. I use it very much for cooking and eating mmmh! Thanks so much!

    ReplyDelete
  96. What is in my fridge.... Some times that a scary thought because who knows what gets forgotten about when you are always on the go. Right now if I open my fridge the first thing you would see is my husband coffee, then baby food, there seems to always be sweets today there is what I call jello cake (which is just the recipe off the box but is my favorite simple cake of all time).

If I won this ruler I would have to give it to my mom because she taught (and still is teaching) me everything I know about sewing and she deserves a new one.

    Thanks!!

    ReplyDelete
  97. In my fridge you will always find cheese and pickles, my favorite snack of all time. Thanks ofr the chance towin one of these rulers

    ReplyDelete
  98. Oh, I thought I was really going to get a good recipe!! It was a good chuckle.

My most favorite show?? I will be showing my age! But I have to say Johhny Carson. I did not sleep for two years when he went off the air. I think I still have trouble falling asleep without hearing his laugh!

    Thanks,
    Mary

  99. Well, if you check in MY fridge in about a little over a month I am sure to have left over elephant stew since I don't think I have QUITE that many friends!

    ReplyDelete
  100. My favorite half hour TV show of all time would have to be The Brady Bunch. Loved that show back in the day and still like to watch it when they have reruns. The clothes are awesome ha ha. My favorite hour show would have to be Little House on the Prairie. Good ole show with good values. I'm telling my age I know!
Thanks for the chance to win, the rulers look pretty cool.

  101. Victoria, I'm a new follower of your lovely blog. Your sleeping beauties are adorable...that picture reminds me of The Princess and the Pea! Quadrupeds are such opportunists. Mine is doing the same only on just a double bed set-up, and she is much, much larger than your two petite little ones. Oh, boy, I've been saying that I'd choose Sandra Bullock to play me in my life story, because she is so talented and could spice things up so the movie would be interesting. Pretty sad really, but we won't go there. Love the rulers...really want one! Kd

  103. If you looked in my fridge, you would find a lot of tomatoes (we really need to can), fruit of all kinds, leftover chicken spaghetti, grilled venison, 7 kinds of cheese, lots of milk, way too many fresh peppers (jalapeno, bell, banana) and a gigantic container of fresh butterbeans, just shelled.

This ruler looks fantabulous. It makes me think of those awful infomercials... can it really do all they say it can? It slices, it dices... Please don't hire the Shamwow guy to emcee.

Thanks for the recipe; it's totally going in the book. The hubs just happened to bring back an elephant from the market yesterday and I had no idea what to do. Can you pickle elephant feet?

    ReplyDelete
  104. Hhmm, you will find lots of leftovers as I love to cook but hate to eat leftovers. You will also find plenty of Batdorf & Bronson coffee -- a local coffee co. Down in Oly,pia that has a coffee tasting room! I stop every time I go visit my dad.

    ReplyDelete
  105. If you open my refrigerator today, a 3-pack of beautiful cantaloupes will be staring at you, daring you to eat them. Not so funny, they're on their way back to the store for a refund.

    ReplyDelete
  106. My fridge has lots of condiments! Several jars of pickles, ketchup, lots of different mustards, 2-3 barbecue sauces, just for starters.

    ReplyDelete
  107. My frige is pretty empty except for a new gallon of milk and lettuce, it needs a good clening so drips of stuff on several shelves.
Anne Bancroft I would like to play me and my favorite TV show was laugh In, gee that just aged myself.

    ReplyDelete
  108. hard to pick just one favorite show... perhaps the Big Bang Theory at the moment, it most closely resembles real life for me (30 something geeks)

    ReplyDelete
  109. I love Sandra Bullock as an actress
and would have her play me. Thanks
for a chance to win these great rulers.

    ReplyDelete
  110. My fridge has nothing exciting in it... The usual condiments ketchup, mustards (4 varieties), mayo, salad dressings (1 for each of us as we all like different ones), syrup, soy cheese (for me), real marble cheese and cheese slices (for everyone else), and chicken slices for lunches. There is also some cut up watermelon, leftover couscous, and 2 pieces of lasagna and salad makings. But this morning I noticed footprints in the butter... Any suggestions on how to catch the elephant so I can try out your stew recipe??

These rulers sound like something I'd like to try! Thanks for a chance to win! :)

    ReplyDelete
  111. In my fridge, most of the time you will find bottled water and Diet Coke, both regular and caffiene-free (unless I run out). Then, since I don't do a lot of cooking anymore and the ex left me the fridge (and he liked to cook), there are tons of outdated condiments, sauces, and such. I should really clean out the fridge, but it would look rather empty (as contrasted with my freezers, which hold lots of nukeable stuff.

    b/

    ReplyDelete
  112. Well lets see most of the time you will find goodies for my grandkids in the fridge, but lately you will find all kinds of berries and fruit from my garden to make into Jams, Jellies, and condiments for christmas presents. Everyone likes these presents and i guess you could say my grandkids too.
Thanks for sharing the elephant stew recipe. Elizabeth

    ReplyDelete
  115. I would love to win the ruler! I am new to your blog and I love it! My answer is to the question of who I would like to play me in a movie about my life...Queen Latifah! Trust me you would need a comedian for it!

    ReplyDelete
  116. I would have to say the best TV show has to be Big Brother. While I am a bit embarrased to admit it, it definetly is my guilty pleasure. I didn't even tell my best friend that I'd been watching it for 3 years until she got addicted too!

    ReplyDelete
  117. You know, I'm a big MASH fan, too. I still watch reruns when I find them.
And I would probably faint if I met up with Alan at the PO!

Fave TV show for consistent laughs: Big Bang Theory.
Movie casting? Sandra Bullock, for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Roseann Barr is my pick for me, because I don't know many other fat actresses.

    Ha!

    ReplyDelete
  125. To play me in a movie? Well 'they' would probably cast Kathy Bates...not the psycho one from Misery but more of the suffer-no-fools Kathy from Harry's Law. Me? I would like to be played by Emma Thompson...a slightly more refined woman with a wicked sense of humor!!!

    ReplyDelete
  126. I cleaned out my refrigerator after Hurricane Irene, and I have yet to replace anything but the staples. It really looks like I am going away on a 3-month vacation! Oh, and the freezer just has ice cubes - lots of ice cubes!
I would love to try one of these rulers.

    ReplyDelete
  127. I think that having a ruler that sharpens blades would be great! My freezer is full of frozen yogurt. I eat it for breakfast, lunch dessert, afternoon snact, and dinner dessert. My husband and I really laught throughout The Big Bang Theory. The actress that I would choose would be Brooke Shields, because I have thick eyebrows. Thanks for the opportunity!

    ReplyDelete
  128. That should be snack and laugh. Sorry that I can't spell.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Lets see there's not much in my fridge that I think could generate a laugh, the onions might make me cry..but hang on, I think I heard some-one say that is the way to stop them doing that! My vitamin D pills aren't going to tickle anyone's funny bone..or that left-over garlic butter that will probably be there for another year. Sometimes escapee foodstuffs in little boxes migrate to the back of the fridge and I don't find them again until they are ready to harvest penicillin from. Eeyew!

    ReplyDelete
  130. You are a hard act to follow - just read your recipe. I would like Marilyn Monro to play me - but wait...., somedays, I could be Lucy from Charlie Brown, and my family feels Joan Crawford would have been great, but today I want Amy Poehler from Parks and Rec - love her!!!!

  183. I don't watch much TV now, but when I was a kid (the 80's)they made great TV shows in my opinion. Happy Days, The Love Boat, Fantasy Island and who can forget 'who shot JR'? One of my all time favs was Little House on the Prairie. I made a Laura Ingalls dress in home ec. And when I look back now, I can't believed I actually wore that thing. How embarassing. I wanted it to be really rufflie (is that a word?). I probably could have made a set of curtians out of it it had so much fabric in it. And it was baby blue, a color I rarely wear, with little flowers all over it. I cringe just thinking about it.

    ReplyDelete
  184. To play me younger would be Camryn Manheim (I always wanted to be more elegant and she is slimmer than I have been for a LONG time), or my currnet age Conchata Ferrell, more like me know ( I fell in love with her in the movie "Heartland).

I grew up on a small farm so the simple way of life really appealled to me. I think I would have loved to live during that time. Opps. I still have not answered a question. Inside my icebox you will always find sweet tea.

Thanks for a chance to win a ruler. A clever idea.

  196. Thanks for the chance to win such a cool ruler - I'd love to try one! If you looked in my fridge you would be embarrassed for me. You see, my husband has been out of town for the last 2 1/2 weeks...and will be for another week or so. When he's gone I always indulge in doing only the bare minimum cleaning so that my boys and I don't wind up in the hospital from tripping over stuff or eating spoiled food. So, I haven't really touched the fridge much except to add new stuff to the front. In the back I'm sure there are things that really need to be thrown away or might just walk to the trash on their own someday. Next Thursday night I'll be cleaning that thing like crazy, before DH gets back!!

  197. In my fridge, you will find limeade and mango juice, cheese, fresh veggies, Univera Extra (gives me great focus), Univera Essentials (in case I don't get time for a real meal), La Victoria green salsa, green olives, and strawberry jam. There are also assorted containers of leftovers I am not sure of. Everything a busy couple could need.

  199. OK...the recipe was freakin' FABULOUS!!! I loved Twin Peaks for the short time it was on...love that quirky, weird, funny stuff. Right now there are containers of fresh soup in the frig 'cuz I made a BIG batch this morning (chop-chop-chop...). I love the scrappy quilt in the barnraising style! Every time I start cutting out scraps for quilts, the pile is first destined for one project, then by the time I have enough cut, I end up doing something else. Heck...as long as they get used, it's all good.

    In stitches,
    Teresa :o)

  200. I just went shopping the other day, so my fridge is pretty full, but mostly it is full of oranges. My son works at a grocery store, and they had a good deal on oranges, so he bought about 40 or 50, I've lost count! The guys here are fighting colds, but really. I told "No More Oranges"!
