"Good Night Irene"
97" X 105"
"Good Night Irene" fits my bed like a dream...
I used mostly Jennifer Paganelli prints from four different lines of her.
MOSTLY her new line of WEST INDIES..they are so luscious...
They all look so good together... I also pulled in some extra fabrics here
and there that went nicely with them.
Each star has a different center, and now as I look at
it... I found a non intentional oopsie...
Can you see it?
I will leave it... no doubt!
Love it!! So how many now is it that you have for your bed?? Must be at least 100 or so, right? ;) It took me a while but I did find the oopsie, that just tells you that it is really hard to see.
ReplyDeletebeautiful quilt...yep I saw your oopsie but...I know how you like to do things differently to give your quilts your personal touch so I just figured it was done on purpose!
ReplyDeleteI think it looks great
Irene is much prettier in fabric than storm! I'd leave the oopsie. :o)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt and such an endearing oopsie! I referred to your blog in my blog one day and friends who are crafty, but not quilty visited and love your work. They were so excited at your use of color and the fact that you are so bold. I think all your quilts are fun, but they absolutely adored the Kitchen Sink quilt. Have sweet dreams under Good Night Irene.
ReplyDeleteI adore this quilt of yours V, those colours really speak to me, and JP's new fabrics are divine! Love the pattern you have used took me ages to find the oopsie, leave it in I think! xo
ReplyDeleteJust love those stars ... and how you set them on those strong diagonals ... so busy and so calm at the same time ... beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove it... The diagonal lines are very evocative of wind and rain!
ReplyDeleteYes I see the oppsie... but am smitten with the layout that seems so straight forward and yet has a few twists that make it outstanding.
ReplyDeleteWas not impacted by Irene and glad of it. If I never do another hurrican it will be fine with me. Funny as I have never thought to make a quilt during one. There was so much prep before... like to sleep through as much as possible.
It even looks like nighttime.

It looks beautiful on the bed, love the shades and prints.

Beautiful! The stars and the diagonals are so YOU! It looks great on your bed too.
ReplyDeleteLove this quilt and such a better way to experience Irene under a quilt instead of caught in a hurricane!! I looked quickly at each block and didn't see an oopsie so looked again and there it was! I have an old bow tie quilt that has an "oopsie" that I never saw until I looked at it through the lens of my camera. Since I don't know the maker, it's possible it was intended.
ReplyDeleteNice finish! I LOVE how you take only 12 blocks and somehow make a king size quilt out of them. Truly your style, and it really works! Gorgeous fabrics too, love the chocolate brown ground!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great storm souvenier! I like the oopsie- it makes it really special!
ReplyDeleteI like the different stars and the patterns in the centres and then the repetitive diagonals. This is a very attractive quilt
ReplyDeleteit reminds me of all the fallen leaves and twigs littering the patio and streets after Irene.....I am still working on my irene quilt, dooooont think it will be quite as big
ReplyDeleteWow this is big. What size are the star blocks?
ReplyDeleteVictoria! This quilt is soo soo soooo beautiful!! Everything about it is perfect!! Even the oopsie! The the brown and blue diagonal is dramatic and the stars almost float off the quilt. I love it!! Awesome fabrics too :-)
ReplyDeleteWell isn't this pretty and fun! Really enjoy the fabrics.
ReplyDeleteWow, love Good Night Irene! What oopsie are you talking about - it was planned that way.
ReplyDeleteQuick question: when is the next Basics quilt distribution day? Thanksgiving 11/24 or is this just the cut-off date? Trying to plan trip or quilt shipping - Thanks!
very nice
ReplyDeleteLove the stars and the dark diagonals, but my favorite part is that clear blue floral background....the same color as the sky looked the day after the storm....just beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, and the oopsie is charming.
Stunning quilt! My BFF told me oopsies add character. I agree.
ReplyDeleteYou are one of the people who inspire me. I love your style. Other things that inspire me are quilt blogs, quilt stores, quilt books, the wallpaper in my hotel room last weekend. ;o)
