trip wrap up.

HOME!!
I'm home from my "other Home"  Minnesota, where I was born and raised!
I taught for 9 days straight around the State of MN and one stop in WI, and had quite the adventure!

First off.
Wednesday evening, before I left, my poor sweet Kia, passed away.  It was the best time, as I would have been very sad had I missed seeing her... She was in congestive heart failure since August, so her passing in her sleep, quietly, and rest, was a blessing.  I'm grateful for that. She was still her very happy self, and I knew she was getting really tired out...  I did not want to see her in pain. She was a real sweetie.  Jenny Egg has had an adjustment to make... They were inseparable...

Then Friday morning, in flurry to get organized to get to the airport,...got TO the AIRPORT... only to realize that I did not have my ID or credit cards with me!
PANIC!
Luckily, I was able to find someone to quick go to my apartment and come to the airport with my proper ID!

Sheesh!

I started at MN Quilters with a lecture, then a workshop at 1st Sewing in Bloomington, then up to Brainerd for a lecture and a workshop....
and a....
Snowstorm!
Yep, Minnesota did not let me down... it dropped 11"of snow on us "Up North" and made us all a twitter over weather people would be able to make it...  But Minnesotans are tough, winter driving, stock, and we had a nice turn out even in the nasty weather!  hehe!

Thanks Karla at Cherrywood fabrics!!!, and Linda from Pinetree Quilters, for hosting me!

I stopped and had a visit with my mother, and my aunt, as well.
Gotta do those things while in the state!

Love those Cherrywood fabrics!!!

Next I was back to Minneapolis for a workshop, and before heading south to Henderson, I was off to have dinner with friends, when my RENTAL CAR OVERHEATED in 20 Degree weather!
Hey, you learn something new everyday!  Didn't see that one coming!
So we sat, ate, chatted while we waited for my "new rental" car to arrive...

I'm quite grateful that even though it was a tough week, My classes and lectures were attended by warm, fabulous, quilter peeps! They all did amazing work, which I hope will also inspire you! I was sure inspired!

 Hudson Heritage quilters work, above.

At my lecture in Henderson, a few students from another workshop came in on a very brisk night of 5 degrees, and brought along some blocks they were finishing up!  Look! 15 Minutes of play Minis in the center of her lovely star!!

A highlight!

This sweet young lady, all of 7 years of age, was taking NOTES during my lecture, and commented... I think she really likes Double Wedding Rings!   ( I guess I'm an easy read! ) hahaha!
She then asked if I'd sign her notebook.  Awwwwwww. SO SWEET!!! You Betcha!

I did really enjoy this sign in Henderson as well...  "Quilt Speaker"    Love it, just as much as I love (turkey) Bingo!  ;-)  The people here were fantastic, my host, Sandi, and the friends of the library were just the best. Thank you all for having me come. Peeps from all over southern Minnesota came out, and I am truly touched!

After an hour delay, more snow, and a de-iced plane, I safely returned home to NYC,
to a wonderful 46 degree evening.... Ahhhhhhh!

Now to get caught up, and head out Monday for Seattle!
