  1. I love your modern take on the wedding ring. I think my favorite block is the log cabin because it's so versatile and can be traditional or modern.

  10. I had a lot of fun with the anvil blocks and have made a bunch but I also like the pineapple block quite a lot.
    Very labor intensive but worth it!

  11. Well, I've been quilting forever and don't have a favorite, but I sure do like quilts with curves. And I'd love to win that book, sounds interesting!

  12. I love the very simple and classic half square triangle...because you can create hundreds (maybe thousands) of other patterns with it..

  16. I would like to say something different than the other comments, but log cabin has always been my top favorite block, followed by the lowly 9-patch with all its variations - I like to be able to "interpret" these blocks! Thanks for the chance to win.

  18. I've been loving making flying geese lately ~ the old way. I've got this precious fabric that I'm finally making a quilt with. Cutting it with care!

  20. My favorite block is the simple churn dash. Love how it looks straight set or on point. Seems simple, it is, but its a timeless block. Looks like you are having a blast in Houston. Good for you!

  25. Choosing just one block as a favorite is soooo hard. I do tend to use drunkard's path and log cabin more than other traditional blocks. They are so versatile! Thanks for offering this give away!!!!

  28. I love anything with stars and card trick always catches my eye. I'm in love with the modern looking quilt and so I love to just start sewing some squares together and see where it leads me, whether I start cutting those then apart or leaving them. Love your Blog, thank you for the great giveaway

    My favorite block is the Churn Dash block. It was the first one that I learned when I took my first quilting class, and it has always been close to my heart. And, I would have to say it may be tied with Log Cabin, because, after all, who doesn't love Log Cabin blocks? Grace

  45. Hmmm... my favorite quilt block. I think it definitely changes frequently. My gut is telling me the log cabin because of how much you can do with it. But I also have a soft spot for the spool block ... and the churn dash ... and shoofly ... and constellation ...

  51. I love the log cabin block, probably because it was the very first block I made when I started quilting - 1" strips!!! We were to learn accuracy also - UGH!! And I still love it, as there are so many possibilities with making them look like half square triangles.

  92. This looks like a great book! Thanks for the video chat. Its very hard to pick a favorite block, but I like any design that gives an asymmetrical look to the block like a Log Cabin, Birds in the Air or Split 9 Patch. The layout possibilities are so fun with a block like that.

  97. I love so many different quilt blocks, and appliqued blocks are especially appealing to me. But there are a couple -- the first couple that I learned to make-- that are and always will be two of my favorites--- Ohio Star and Shoo Fly. :-) The idea of showing classic blocks made up in modern fashion is SO interesting!
