whoop whoop.

DONE!  Beatrice's Birthday quilt is done and off the long arm FRAME!  Now to bind!!  I will have to do that next week, while she is in school! She still has not seen it.... I'm so pleased that I got it this far!

(Psssttt, You can make one of these, too! Go here https://www.youpatch.com)

The finger is doing great.  Still doesn't hurt... How odd is that?  I do feel a bit like a dog with a cone on his head.. I keep banging my finger into things... Clang, clang, clang...

After I got Beatrice's Quilt off the frame I quickly loaded my cousin's quilt... and...

Here you can see my nice big finger sticking out... haha.... this quilt is now ready for binding as well. So even though it's been an intense week, the best and the worst, have happened all in one one day...

A couple more big commissions came in, and a museum piece... the same day I wounded my finger... with that, I say it's  been a great exciting, creative week!

Now, I am finishing details on my two Houston Quilt Festival Submissions, due to be dcvd in by May 29th... LOL, nothing like down to the wire!  phew!  But all good... I'm very happy...

I hear nice weather is coming for this Memorial weekend!! I hope you have a lovely, long, happy time! (with quilting included!)

  3. Cool. Just a question: how do you quilt that kind of design, I can't tell from the picture: invisible thread, all over design ?

  8. My 3.5 year old was with me when I watched yesterday's video. Now if I so much as approach my sewing machine she says 'be careful of your finger, Mama.' And when I picked up scissors she said "I guess you do need to cut that, but be very careful." Apparently, she's decided Moms can't be fully trusted with sewing implements!

  10. B's quilt is a Class A winner in every category. What a lovely gift for such an amazing girl. This week has been a strange one; I sewed my forefinger in my machine for the first time in my life--what a weird feeling for days after. Your long-arm pic shines and is one of the loveliest I'v seen in ages.

  11. Beatrice's quilt is such an inspiration! I just love it. And I'm so excited by the thought that I feel like I will be able to make one some day as well. And I will! I just have to figure out what my subject will be. I'm pretty sure, though, it won't be Beatrice - as cute and photogenic as she is!
