Hey Victoria, sorry to hear about your run in with your long arm quilting machine. You never know what will happen when you're sewing!! Hope it mends soon. I am loving the quilt for your daughter! Take care.
I'm glad to hear you're not in too much pain! I hurt my finger very badly almost 2 years ago... it was crushed in a heavy gate and had to have surgery and hand therapy to follow up with that. I hope you recover easily and well and have no problems with the bone.
Yeeeouch! I've never heard of anyone stitching their finger with a long arm. I'm so sorry! I hope it heals fast and that you can lose the shiny thing soon :)
Hi Victoria....I have long armed thru my middle finger twice!!! But not knicked the bone....ouch!!! So sorry....sending warm wishes...quilt is beautiful! ~Jude in Idaho

I never really understood how someone could sew through their finger. Well, guess what? I did it this week on my domestic machine - and I still don't understand how I did it! Through the nail and out the other side. The grossest part was turning the wheel to get the needle out. Hope your follow up goes well and you are back to 10 digits soon. And thanks for the view of all your beautiful quilts!
hope it heals fast! while you're waiting for it to heal, zip over here to Winnipeg and come see the show where I'm the feature quilter -- you'll recognize some of the quilts.
So sorry to hear that you sewed thru your finger - ouch! Knock on wood - I have never done that. Now I have rotary cut my finger pretty good one time, but not enough to need a doctor. I know you will figure out a way to get the binding on Beatrice's quilt. It might be sewing a bit until your fingers cramp up, taking a break, and then sewing a bit more, but I know you will get it done! Take care!
When you do something, you really do something, don't you. I just sewed through the edge of mine when I did it, no long arm, no bone involvement. Hope you don't have to wear that thing too long. Love your nail polish!
Ouch, ouch, ouch! Glad it wasn't worse and you're not in too much pain. Can't wait to see Beatrice's quilt ~ it looks awesome (and she'll have a story to tell about how her Mom sewed her finger)!
OMG! I haven't done it yet! But i sat next to somebody who did, and boy did I notice the reaction! The funny thing is that everybody is always only worried about whether you got blood on your fabric when you tell them about a quilting accident! As if blood won't wash out! I chopped a small piece off my finger with a rotary cutter, and honestly, I think sewing through my finger would be a lot worse! But let's all try to be careful! Heal well and quickly. If you have to put the binding on after you give her the quilt, won't she be understanding when she knows the reason? The quilt looks so awesome. I can't wait to hear what her reaction is.
Yes, I've sewn my finger with my Featherweight trying to finish Christmas presents! Once it hit the bone, and boy, did it hurt!!! I'm one of those slow, careful, 1/4" sewers, except when I'm in a terrible hurry, so I haven't experienced a "sewn" finger in years. Now I just BUY Christmas gifts! Hope your finger feels better soon. Love the quilt you are making for your daughter! She will, too!
I am totally cringing. It is a great looking quilt so I hope that you have it finished by now but yikes, I will be sure watching my fingers now with my long arm.

Blood, Sweat and Tears in that quilt~ it will be precious no doubt. If you can't stop, at least pause and take some good deep breaths. Hugs.
