finger work.

I'm feeling a trend here.. Orange is popping up around me, in a very good way! New iron, new luggage for hauling quilts and teaching stuff around, flowers for my studio from friends.. I guess they know what my favorite color is! You think?  haha!
It's just such a happy color!!

Got a favorite color??

I've been doing hand work for the last four days… Binding three quilts… adding some extra details, like cording/piping on this binding… Slow going to get it just right, but it looks smashing!  My fingers are a bit tired of hand sewing… But… It all will be done by Thursday!

Here's another little PLAY going on, some silk play as a tiny side note project…  Once Thursday gets here, I'm off to Philadelphia to lecture and teach with the Modern Guild., then to Olde City Quilts to lecture on Sunday… When I get back, It will be time for anew project to start!  OH, and I still need to get this space into shape… But that requires a trip to Ikea so I then have someplace to put all the stuff laying around here…

  1. Favorite color? Right now it is turquoise, and red, and lime, and bright yellow ... I guess I like everything! Sounds like you are going to be very busy will all your lecturing. I did join the national MQG and I am going to try and make it to Austin next year. Any suggestions on where to stay?

  2. I just got a new orange floral ironing board cover from Target that you would love! And I need a new iron, too. Yours would match perfectly! Enjoy your travels.

  3. Orange, or as I call it, Orinch, is my happy color. It reminds me of big happy pumpkins. Makes me smile, too! You will LOVE that iron! It is a lean mean steam machine! It is one of my desert island quilting tools.

  5. How are you putting the cording on? are you sewing it in like one would normally do or are you adding iit on the outside edge using a whipstitch? Hmmmm.......I love it whichever way you are doing it.

  8. Just curious...I thought you had an Oliso iron? Is it still working for you? Mine spits and sputters and I quit using it....should just send it back as it cost me an arm and a leg... Is this Reliable a replacement or an extra?

  9. Thank you for the link to The Quilt Show episode that you did. I just loved it. Not living in the states anymore makes links like that extra special. Mexico is not known for quilting, quilt guilds or classes so the closest that I usually get is u-tube. I really enjoyed seeing a part of how your 15 minutes of play works.

  10. Wow, what fun looking luggage! They'll be easy to spot on the airport luggage carousels too. My favorite colors are turquoise, green, purple and a bit of a warm yellow. I can't seem to stay away from using them either. ;-)

  15. I love turquoise! I bought a turquoise teakettle at Target--makes me happy to use it every morning! Although, I do keep an orange ceramic pumpkin on my kitchen counter all year. I love pumpkins and leaves.
