  6. Yes! I found my Santa block! Such a gorgeous quilt, and a thrill to see it put to use.
Turkey with cranberry sauce and gravy is pretty awesome stuff, but fave Thanksgiving dish has to be pumpkin pie: after the turkey; as a midnight snack; makes a lovely breakfast; and just another little slice (is there any whipped cream/ice cream left?). Yup, I'd better bake two.

  11. Favorite is a sweet potato casserole that was called "muggin" in our home, I don't know why the name, but I love it no matter what it is called. Mashed sweet potatoes, pecans a marshmallow topping with pumpkin pie spice, lemon and orange juices, eggs and butter. It puffs up and then sighs and looses all its height like a fallen souffle.

  155. Homemade Pecan Pie with homemade whipped cream. My Grandma used to make this combination for me and my siblings in Minnesota when we were kids. My Mom continued the tradition. Now now I make them both for my daughter and her family! The biggest difference is I buy a bag of shelled nuts, but I remember sitting around the kitchen table removing the nuts from the shell when I was a kid. Thanks for bringing this memory back. I think that is one of the great things about you..... you combine traditions and current! HAPPY THANKS GIVING Thanks! Donalee

  156. mashed potatoes, gravy and dressing and pecan or chocolate pie. Yum. I got out my turkey roasting bag. The package said large, fits up to 8 lbs. So I went to the store to get one that will fit a 17 lb turkey instead.Thanks. Have a great day.

  161. Mashed potatoes, for sure - I use sour cream and cream cheese for the mashing, adding back just a small amount of the cooking water, if needed - these are rich and wonderful potatoes!!

  171. Lefse!!!
Hands down favorite during the holidays. For those non-Norwegians, it's a dry flat potato tortilla as thin almost as phyllo.... eaten cold, rolled up as a conveyance for butter Some unappreciative folks (Germans mostly, in my family) thing it's akin to buttering a napkin. They just don't appreciate the finer things!

  172. that is a really tough question but i think without turkey it just wouldn't be thanksgiving....
