I Heart my LQS!

Did you know there is a DAY just for VISITING YOUR LOCAL QUILT SHOP?
Save the date!
Visit Your Local Quilt Shop Day
is January 24

Well, for me, City Quilter is the best.  They have a wide range of fabrics that provides me with a wide selection of scrumptious fabrics to choose from! They are in walking distance to my loft, so when I need something quick, I can pop down and find just what I need! Did I mention they also have an AMAZING Gallery for showing the works of the many fantastic quilters from around the world!
Even when I don't NEED fabric, It's a great place to visit with other quilty friends and just FONDLE the goods... Sometimes, it's that easy to please me!

Plus! On December 6th at 6pm at City Quilter, I'm having a trunk show and book signing there!
So call up, reserve your spot for my talk,
or sign up for one of their many, great, quilt classes...

See you at MY LQS!

Quilters and sewing enthusiasts now have even more reason to visit their favorite local, independent quilt and fabric shops now through Visit Your Local Quilt Shop Day. The Fabric Shop Network is thrilled to announce the launch of the “I Love My Local Quilt Shop” fan photo contest with the Grand Prize of a $500 Shopping Spree* to spend at your favorite local, independent quilt or fabric shop plus a PC4200PRW Project RunwayTM Limited Edition Computerized Sewing Machine from Brother International Corporation (MSRP $649). The photo contest is now on the Quilt Shop Day Facebook page and is open to residents of the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) and Canada (excluding Quebec), 18 years of age or older. All photos must be taken inside or directly outside of the entrant’s favorite local, independent quilt or fabric shop (including sewing machine retailers that sell fabric). Entrants are asked to name their favorite shop in each entry.
The contest will also accept entries via Twitter and Instagram from anyone who tweets a photo, or uploads an Instagram photo, and uses hashtag #ILoveMyLQS in the caption. Photos from Instagram and Twitter with the hashtag #ILoveMyLQS then automatically upload to the contest entry page on Facebook and are viewable with all the other entries.
“We hope contestants will embrace the theme and get creative with their entries—the possibilities are almost endless!” says Fabric Shop Network President Laurie Harsh.
The contest’s deadline for submissions is 11:59 p.m. PST on January 24, 2013 (Visit Your Local Quilt Shop Day). The Voting Period for the contest is January 25 through January 31, and Facebook fans will be invited to vote on their favorite entry. Only one vote per person will be permitted.
Local, independent quilt and fabric shops from around the world will be participating in Visit Your Local Quilt Shop Day and are encouraging customers to enter the photo contest at the shop level. In addition, The Fabric Shop Network is offering shops free online promotional materials and a number of social media tools to build excitement in local communities for Visit Your Local Quilt Shop Day. Any local, independently-owned shop that sells fabric can get a free shop listing and download widgets, h-ires graphics, and other free promotional marketing materials on the official website, www.quiltshopday.com

* No purchase necessary for contest entry. Void where prohibited. Shopping Spree is courtesy of a $500 Brother Visa ® Prepaid Visa Card usable anywhere including your favorite local quilt or fabric shop.

  1. I wish I had a favorite local quilt shop - I have no quilt fabric stores near me - I have to travel over 80 miles in any direction to get to one and I can't say most of them are worth the time spent traveling to them - I mainly shop when traveling and use the on line shops.
