playing in VERMONT

Let it snow , let it snow,  let it snow!
Just back from a lovely trip to Grafton, Vermont. Michele, Hoodie, and I drove up to visit our friend Frances, to bond, sew and create and get into the holiday spirit by shopping at all the sweet little places on the way up!
We hit a few stores in Brattleboro, and The Vermont Country Store... so much fun to stroll through and find all sorts of interesting goodies and stocking stuffers!

We got down and dirty in Frances studio. A very sweet little HOUSE filled entirely top to bottom of Fabric, paints, dyes, buttons, you name it, she has it... It's a Quilter's/Artists dream come true! (house with the yellow door is her studio!)  How fabulous!

We did some Fabric dyeing with ice,
I have some of the fun pieces here to IRON so I can show you... maybe tomorrow...It also included two Shirts for Frances dogs, Daffney and Daisy!  haha! I'm not sure that they were as excited about that as we were!

We created things, tried new thoughts, and collaborated together...(What on earth will this be?  something new for the Runway?) .....and just frankly enjoyed the whole weekend, sewing, cooking, chatting.  (Even though I got a icky head cold, ignore my red Rudolph nose!! aww-choo!) Sorry guys, I hope you are all still healthy!!

Now I am filled up with creative ideas, and I can't wait to keep the momentum moving forward...  Thanks ladies for a great weekend!

And lastly, you can guess How excited I am about this!!!  Three people emailed me, to tell me Pantone picked my favorite Color of all time....  Way to go Pantone!!! Now I am ready to dig out my reds, yet again! Isn't it delish?

**Note to Santa... may I please add a "Sweet 16" to my Christmas list???  A girl can dream!

  6. Love the pictures of your adventure. Nothing like sewing, laughing and creating art with friends. I love the piece that you created - it would make a fabulous quilt. Merry Christmas!

  8. My sister spent a lot of her life in Vermont and still loves it there; I sent her the link to today's post.

I just Love the dishes full of buttons-memories flicker of my mom's/grandmom's button can and the thrill of just running my hand thru the millions of stunning decorative disks. One of the few tactile recollections I have from childhood...
