check this out!

My husband was in Hong Kong last week,
and he came across this artist and he knew I would
like this, and thought maybe my quilt blog pals would like it too!
What a guy!  He's looking out for me, and for you all!
He used silk scarves...sewed them all together...

And as part of his installation, added FANS for something quilt magical!
Isn't it wonderful?

Thanks for all the wonderful encouragement! I made quite a few geese today!
A little each day...I can do it!

  1. Beautiful piece and effect. Your geese are wonderful.
I spent the day pulling all the old fabric out of my chest and washing it, now i am folding it and putting it in piles for quilting and art pieces.

  14. Wow for Kito...and the geese! A few a day is the way to go. My husband is a long distance cyclist and he says the only way to tackle maybe 750 miles, is only think as far as the next control!

  15. Wow!! Kit Kengo is amazing! I like how you started the post in black and white and then surprised us with the burst of color! The fans are a great idea. That's nice that Hubby thought of you :0) I love your flying geese, too.

  20. You've done it! You've inspired me. I was going to try a double-wedding quilt for our fifth anniversary, coming up July 1 (yikes)... but I've never done that pattern and and didn't think it would show off my fun and diverse fabrics, and let's just say I've procrastinated the heck out of it. The geese are much more interesting. And I can do it piece by piece, in the minutes I snatch out of the day to sew, frustration free! Thank you. (my dominant color will be Kaffe-lime green).

  21. That is magical, I'd love to see a video of it...

My hubby does that too while traveling for work, reports back to me about the quilt shops he passes, quilts on display, etc. They're keepers.

  22. I went to Kito's site... amazing! Did you see his sculpture using umbrella's without the fabric? OMG! Thanks so much for sharing, and thank your hubby, too. He must be a patient and sweet man, like mine, cause he puts up with the fabric purchases, and quilty madness.
Your geese are going great! I love the colors!!!
