HOW TO: favorite ornament

What to do with your tiny Xmas fabric scraps?

Gather your tiny Xmas colored scraps
Craft glue
foam balls from the craft store...
red string, and a pin...

We dabbed small drops of glue around the ball
stuck on the fabric scraps,
then tightly wound the ball with string
around and around, every which way,
tying securely at the top
making a loop with the extra string,
and securing the knot with a pin.

Fast, easy,
and make a lovely ornament or gift!

ANOTHER FAST AND EASY (& DELICIOUS!)

CRISP SUGAR COOKIES
 preheat oven to 350

in a large bowl mix

1 c confectioners sugar
1 c brown sugar
1 c butter
1 cup veg oil

(Cream these together)
add in
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
(stir it all up!)

In a smaller bowl,

4.5 c flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cream of tartar

Stir into creamed mixture.

Roll balls into walnut sized balls lay on ungreased cookie sheet.
squish down with the palm of your hand...
I find a glass doesnt' work as these are a bit mushy...

sprinkle with sugars,  bake 5-10 minutes... till lightly brown edges...

then put a lock on the cookie jar, because they disappear fast...

  1. Fast and fabulous. Remember the liquid blue starch, balloons, and yarn projects from grade school? These are SO MUCH PRETTIER and lots less messy.

  5. I adore these ornaments! I can't wait to make a couple. They would be so fun to hang in the windows, and use different colors for different holidays. Now, if only we weren't snowed in today, I would go to the craft store to pick up a couple foam balls. Thanks for sharing!
