A little over a year ago, you may recall I made a new quilt for my bed at my long island house... Well, Today, I finally quilted it. with very little quilting... It seems everyone in my house likes quilts with less quilting, and wool batting... So, that is exactly what I did. ;-)
It looks pretty good! I just need to bind it over Christmas break...
It's Jenny Egg friendly also... Meaning, I didn't put a whole lot of effort into the quilt, and I won't feel bad if it gets spilled on or muddy pawed.
(Here's hoping it doesn't but you know what I mean. I won't fret!)
For the backing I picked this gorgeous orange Kaffe print... I may even flip it over and have that lovely side up!
Striped borders were added to make it KING sized. Mitering the corners and matching the stripes always give such nice finished look to any quilt. You can see my original post on this here. CLICK. All info on the pattern is listed there... I'm running to pack up and head back into NYC.
...But not before a quick cuddle with the extra... on the new quilt! hehe!
Gorgeous dahlia, wool batting, less quilting, pet friendly...the perfect gift!!!
ReplyDeleteVery, very beautiful. I always do my bindings now the glue binding way. I machine stitch everything. Everything always meets great and I don't have to worry about my wonky handstitching coming loose. Great job!
ReplyDeleteVery nice!!!!! I've made so many of those Dahlia quilts over the years...Iwas sick of them....but after New Years, I am doing it again...lol
