Victoria Findlay Wolfe quilt, using mini wave Sizzix die cut, and RJR cotton supremes. |
Way back before Spring Quilt Market, I received a nice bundle of RJR's Cotton Supreme's to play with! I picked out a wide variety of colors I thought would be oozing color!
You know I can't just use one color, I need 50! So limiting my self to this stack was hard enough! So many choices!
And!
It was perfect timing to make up a quilt, using my SIZZIX MINI WAVE DIE as well!
Sometimes keeping it simple is just the trick!
...and perhaps, my daughter who happened to be watching The Partridge Family may have had some influence...
Maybe. Ha!
I wanted a bright palette, some nice darks and adding in a few that are almost neon to bounce that color up a notch! Using my Sizzix Wave die, I could quickly cut out all my shapes in no time at all, and spend loads of time just playing laying them out in an arrangement I was happy with! FUN! PLAY!
Wanna play too?
Would you like to win a FQ bundle,
of the colors I've used?
Of course you would!!
:-)
Fabric love!
The colors included are:
Pinot Noir
Linen
Toy Boat
Emerald City
Neon
Bandana
Orchid
Pink Sapphire
Carrot
Martini Olive
Boxwood Green
Feeling Blue
In the Buff
Sugar Pie

Leave me a comment about your personal favorite color...
Has it always been your favorite color, or do you change you mind frequently? ;-)
I will select a winner on July 17th, 9am.
Thanks RJR for offering up these fun cottons to sew with, and for share the Fabric love!
Any kind of green- and the brighter the better! I alternate between blue and green which makes for a very pretty stash! Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeletePinot noir, midsized car, candy bar, Pinot Noir
ReplyDeleteMy favorite color is always a blue or a green--it changes back and forth! Love how saturated and rich your quilt looks!
ReplyDeleteMy prefered color is blue, i like it as reminds me sky and see, and it is quiet color, otherwise i like orange.thanks for the giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteFavorite color is purple, but I tend to buy more blues. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteFavorite color is purple, but I tend to buy more blues. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeletegreen without a shadow of doubt is my favourite colour and always has been from when I was a little girl a long long time ago!
ReplyDeleteMy personal favourite colour is buttery yellow, but for working with in fabric lime green! :). Because I can't just have one either!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite color is yellow (since I was a young girl), but I use very little of it in my quilts.
ReplyDeleteStill orange. Every so often it goes back and forth from yellow to orange.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite has always been blue--but I do waver every once in a while when I see a lovely peachy orange....hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteMy favorite color has always been blue. For a greater part of my life it was a true blue. However, now I have changed to loving a blue that leans toward green- like the blue water of the Caribbean. I fell in love with the color while painting (art) and that color is Pthalo Blue Green Shade in Golden Acrylics. The color feels so rich and warm (contrary to color theory where it would fall in the "cool" category.) It always makes me happy.
ReplyDeleteRight off the top of my head I'd say orange but I do wear a fair bit of turquoise, too.
ReplyDeleteBlue has always been my favorite color, but the exact blue varies over time. That has more to do with color availability than with a desire to change.
ReplyDeleteI have almost always loved all shades of pink. Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite changes frequently enough that my five year old regularly asks "what's your favorite color today, Mommy?" But, plum and emerald rise to the top pretty consistently.
ReplyDeleteThis is just too hard to choose! All those fabrics, all those colors....please send me to heaven with a coffin filled with color!!
ReplyDeleteDiane K.
Over all I would say green is my fav..... most clear greens.... not the muddys so much.
ReplyDeleteBlue, blue, blue, but periwinkle in particular! Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteRed-- the color of Christmas, Valentines, and July Fourth. Thanks for the tutorial. 3305school@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteRed has always been my favorite color with yellow a close second; recently I lean toward yellow as my favorite.
ReplyDeleteI've almost never met a colour that was not a personal favourite. Usually I lean to the ocean blues and aquas or red/orange/pinks but then yellow is so wonderful and the garden is full of fantastic greens, see, there you go It would be lovely to win that bundle.
ReplyDeleteI have been leaning toward purple the past few years. But I still lean toward my greens too.
ReplyDeleteI never really decided on a particular color; but, kept gravitating towards purple. when I married Dan, I purposely made green my second favorite because it's his favorite color. Actually, it is almost equal to purple. My third favorite is orange as I tend to gravitate towards that a lot too. :-)
ReplyDeleteCheddar, hands down!
ReplyDeleteNeon yellow green. It has always been my favorite, I am a child of the 60's.
ReplyDeleteAqua or yellow but not the neon one. hmm, not one but it is hard when I never met a colour I didn't like!
ReplyDeleteI love any and all colors My favorite color right now is coral.
ReplyDeleteI love any and all colors My favorite color right now is coral.
ReplyDeleteMagenta... loved it as soon as I first used it as a Crayola crayon when I was little and it never fails to bring a smile to my face :)
ReplyDeleteRed has been my favorite color for a long time, but I have nothing against turquoise, gray or black!
ReplyDeleteGotta be anything orange for me!!

ReplyDeletepink pink, always pink. but I'm trying to buy/collect/hoard new colors, more suited for the non pink and boys in my life. however my husband sleeps happily under pink quilts every night. :>)
ReplyDeleteBlue has always been my favorite color!
ReplyDeletePeriwinkle.......forever!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove blues.
ReplyDeleteGreen hands down, at least since I was little when it was pink. Green is the color of the forest, and fields so it just makes me happy. I love to combine green with purple, sometimes blue in my quilts. Thanks you for the opportunity to win that group of solids I would so enjoy cutting them up into a quilt!!!
ReplyDeleteI think I have recently rediscovered that red violet is one of my favorite colors. I have used it lots over the past two years.....sometimes without even realizing that's why I put a particular fabric in a quilt. In pondering this (because had you asked me this question years back I would have said blues or greens) I remembered how much I loved using the red violet crayon in my box of crayons when I was a child. It's either that or my vision is receding! :-) Thanks for the chance to win the fabric. Your quilt is awesome........as usual!
ReplyDeleteI've always been drawn to red.
ReplyDeleteI love red...when I was small I loved orange, but people(not my Mom) thought that was crazy---but I looked good in a soft orange color!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAlthough green has always been my favorite color, I love to add red, orange and yellow to my quilts.
ReplyDeleteLove turquoise!
ReplyDeleteTurquoise has been a favorite of mine for years. Add to that teal, sea foam, any of that greeny-blue loveliness.
ReplyDeleteAny palette with lots of different shades of blue can never be amiss. They all play well with all the other colors.
ReplyDeletei generally gravitate toward teal, but lately I've been buying a lot of yellow-greens as well
ReplyDeleteMy favorite color was blue for many years, and I still love it. In the last few years of quilting though, red is my new favorite. I just love the spark a bit of it gives, and who couldn't fall in love with it after the red and white quilt exhibition!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite color is aqua, but I frequently have brief affairs with many others.
ReplyDeleteWay too many colors to choose from, love them all. the brighter the better.
ReplyDeleteI love the blues -- those very light and those very bright. Whan I am designing a project, I tend to go with just one color but many shades and tomes of that color.
ReplyDeleteI loved Eggplant for a long time, but I do change my mind. Fuschia is another favorite!
ReplyDeleteOrange has been my constant for years, but I also love the Kona aqua (so pretty! and not too bright) and indigos.
ReplyDeleteFunny how nicely those both play with orange right?
My favorite is now red. My favorite used to be pink, and I wonder if I simply continued to walk down that road. What is interesting to me is that orange used to be my "I hate that" color and now I have a secret crush on it. I am embarrassed by the idea that I've been influenced by pop culture, but I suppose it is inevitable. I've seen enough orange, in enough places, with enough other colors, that finally I have become comfortable with a color I used to detest. (Back in the Partridge Family days of my childhood.)
ReplyDeleteOrchid is divine, thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeletegreen is my favorite-----but really, I just love
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is Green...no, wait...my favorite is blue...no wait...orange...no, red....pink... :o)
ReplyDeletecolor.
ReplyDeletezanalou999@gmail.com (I think the comment is in 2 parts---see above,)
Green. Then red. Then orange. I can't pick just one.
ReplyDeletewould love them all or anyone you want to send my way!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite colors are teals, aquas, and all the gorgeous colors that go with them.
ReplyDeleteI like lots of colors but, toy boat is great from the ones you used!
ReplyDeletePink sapphire please!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite colour has always been blue. Even as a child, I preferred blue dresses.
ReplyDeleteI think Blue and White is the crispest, cleanest freshest look ever and we have lots of B&W china and linen in bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. But I have come to like the look of some bright colours alongside my B&W - a current favourite is a cheerful pink.
HI, I love all shades of RED, always have, maybe always will!
ReplyDeleteOf course that includes PINK too!
Thanks for sharing a beautiful giveaway!
msstitcher1214@gmail.com
I am a huge fan of red...all shades of red from lite to dark.
ReplyDeletePink has always been my favorite color -- the shade and intensity that is my favorite changes, but not the color itself. sarah@forrussia.org
ReplyDeleteI am always drawn towards green - any green really but the citurs greens are totally yummy. Kelly green is yummy too!!! Always green. Green forever!!
ReplyDeleteI like non-traditional offbeat combinations!
ReplyDeleteI like anything in the red-violet family. Thanks for the chance to win. mfhagopian@aol.com
ReplyDeleteI've always loved cobalt blue. Thanks for the giveaway! -Steph mail4dodson at yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteAqua. It's always been variations of it, turquoise, teal, peacock, minty aqua.
ReplyDeleteOh lordy....I change my mind ALL the time!! LOL!! But looking at these I have to go with Pinot Noir! cheers!
ReplyDeleteI am always drawn to any shade of green. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteLime...always.
ReplyDeleteCornflower blue and best of all my 15 month old granddaughter has that exact color eyes.
ReplyDeletegreen always in all shades and then peach
ReplyDeleteMy present favorite is Pinot Noir. Love red in multiple shades. Thank you for the opportunity!
ReplyDeleteI never understood how anyone could have just one favorite color. Lately, though, springy greens appeal.
ReplyDeleteAs my hubby says 'I don't know what your favorite color is but I know you like bright colors.' He's right I can't choose one but I do love those bright colors.
ReplyDeletePurple is my favorite. I can't remember how long that's been a favorite, but I love pinks and blues, too. I do think I painted my bedroom lavender when I was about 8. And my bedroom now is orchid. This is a great quilt! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love greens. They bring me peace.
ReplyDeleteI was a purple girl when I was little, now I'm blue. Thanks for this great giveaway. I'm in the UK, not sure if this is open to the world, but boot me out if not! Enjoying following your blog as always.
ReplyDeleteKate
kateorchardmerkel@sky.com
Love greens, plums, mustards.....etc. :) but especially the greens.
ReplyDeleteMy personal favorite color changes with the flip of a switch. Change is good! Right now I love ever shade of blue. BTW, my birthday is July 17th, ahem! 😇
ReplyDeleteI have always liked the blue family, tho others have grown on me through the 50-plus years of sewing I have done.
ReplyDeleteSorry if this is a repeat. I just don't get this Google thing. I did go with aqua.
ReplyDeleteI don't think you can ever go wrong with green. Love the palette, thanks for the opportunity to win
ReplyDeletenorthwindquilting@yahoo.com
I love gray - always have and I always will! I used to be embarrassed to admit that gray was my fave. Then, I was trendy. Someday, I will be so yesterday, but I will be true to my gray!
ReplyDeletePink and green have been my favorite colors my entire life so I would pick the martini green and pink sapphire.
ReplyDeleteOlive green!
ReplyDeleteJust goes with me!
Bluish greens. I've been into water themes lately. My faves change frequently, always have.
ReplyDeleteMy color is Aqua.
ReplyDeleteThanks for a chance to win!! My personal favorite color has always been red.
ReplyDeletePinot Noir is my favorite color and favorite wine!
ReplyDeleteThe Cotton Supreme Solids come in such pretty colors it's really hard to pick ONE favorite! I'm very partial to Bora Bora though. Thanks for the giveaway opportunity.
ReplyDeletePurple has been a favorite for a very, very long time. But since I've started quilting, I've also added green and orange. Now I'm not sure I could say that I only have ONE single favorite any longer.
ReplyDeleteBlue, and it usually stays as my fave, but I also love red-orange.
ReplyDeleteI like and use all colors, but my personal favorite is turquoise
ReplyDeletePink! But I like blue too! I've liked them all my life.
ReplyDeleteI've always loved red - but lately I'm crushing on lavender and pale purples!
ReplyDeleteBlue always has been and always will be my favorite color. Yes, there was a short time in elementary school when purple edged its way in, but it is part of the blue family! I don't like the light, baby or sky blue options; I much prefer the deep moody blues. Funny, I have not made a blue quilt, for I love using many colors in quilts.
ReplyDeleteyou had me at pinot noir....LOL...of course i would LOVE a stash of these....i so love working with solids....bought 4 more today as a matter of fact....
ReplyDeleteI change my mind periodically - every time my 3 yr old grand daugher asks me what my favorite is - currently we are agreeing on orange. She kills me. She loves a big box of color crayons. I love her.
ReplyDeleteI would pick orange. In the Indian chakra system, orange is the color of the second chakra which represents our creativity and sexuality. I find this a very powerful combination of energies. I like orange that is deep, bright, and feels like it is emitting a warm glow.
ReplyDeleteI'm drawN to turquoise lately. It was orange for the longest time, but that has taken a backseat lately.
ReplyDeleteI have ALWAYS loved orange so in this bundle Carrot would be my fave. I think every other color looks better with orange. I used to love neon orange. The brighter the better. Now any orange is just awesome and will find friends at my house.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite color is sea glass green. It's that pale green that's not quite blue and not too green, I love finding pieces of it on the beach and knowing it took years to achieve that perfect color.
ReplyDeleteI love red
ReplyDeleteever since I've been a little girl I have loved green and my sister always blue. Seems to be the same today as adults. I love that martini olive color. Guess I've grown from green kool aid to martini olive now, lol. thank you...
ReplyDeleteand safe travels
So many quiltmakers have trouble with yellow. I love yellow. And orange. With a slice of lime, citrusy goodness. So how do those translate with these delicious RJR fabrics? Just me a chance and I'll show you! (Thanks for the giveaway.)
ReplyDeletegreen, as in any and all, 100o shades of Irish green.. Yes I like the trendy and the tradition ones too....
ReplyDeleteRed has always been a favorite, and love shades of blue. You can tell by looking at my closet or stash
ReplyDeleteCurrently loving red...but that seems to change over time! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love me mellow yellow, that's right! I think its only changed a little over time, maybe lighter, clearer in the past, now leaning toward velveeta, cheddar and mustard.
ReplyDeleteBlues and greens, any shade; and lately, yellow. Don't know why, maybe because there hasn't been enough sun this summer yet!
ReplyDeleteRed! It's been my favorite my whole life.
ReplyDeleteI can't help it... it makes my insides happy! :D
I like oceany turquoise blue
ReplyDeleteMy favorite has always been red. Having said that I love most any color but anything bright does it for me.lol m y w e e d o x at c e n t u r y t e l . n e t
ReplyDeleteGreen and yellow. Sun and grass. Those are my favorite colors, have been for years. Sincerely, Paula K.
ReplyDeleteMy current favorite is magenta!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving salmon/coral these days!
ReplyDeleteToday my favorite color is carrot. Today it may be different. Life is too short to like just one color!
ReplyDeleteI'm sailing over the BOXWOOD waves in my TOY BOAT toward a delicious NEON - MARTINI OLIVE. Yum!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite color is red but I will use as many colors as possible in my work.
ReplyDeleteHi Victoria,
ReplyDeleteMy go to color is blue and I see a few stratigicly placed on your made piece. Blue just gives it some depth. Thanks for the opportunity to win that gorgeous fabric bundle.
Safe travels.
My favorite color for me is moss green... for quilts I love pink and lime green :-))

ReplyDeleteI am fond of so many colors, but I would say all shades of purples and blues stand out the most!
ReplyDeleteI am fond of so many colors, but I would say all shades of purples and blues stand out the most!
ReplyDeleteYellow family because they play so nicely with all colors. Yellows look great with blues, browns, reds, purples, greens and black. When making a scrap quilt yellow always adds the pop.
ReplyDeleteFeeling blue! I've always loved anything blue, it's calming. I'm ordering your mini wave for my sizzix fabi, can't wait! Thank you Victoria!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite colour is red. It's always been red. We have to own red cars, and just had a new front door fitted that had to be red too!!
ReplyDeleteI love orange! What could be better than a fabric called "carrot"?
ReplyDeleteThe past few years I have had a crush on RED....with orange following close behind. I am of the opinion that some kind of red in a quilt....no matter if it's just a bit or a whole lot....nearly always gives that quilt a pop that is eye-catching. RED just makes me happy!
ReplyDeleteI Iove scrappy; blues, greens, pink and all the other clours are beautiful. Thanks for a chancen on winning a great prize.
ReplyDeleteblue is my favorite with a touch of red
ReplyDeleteMy favorite standby is red. But, I have reached out to the whole color palette for thee perfect colors for thee personality of the quilt or project.
ReplyDeleteMy absolute favorite color is chartreuse; you’ll find at least a bit of it in almost every one of my quilts. A little darker than lime, and a little lighter than olive, chartreuse is a bold and complex color that adds punch to almost any color palette.
ReplyDeleteMy colour tastes have changed so much in the last year from subdued monochromatic to bold and vibrant. I love anything jewel tone, green, purple, orange and blue.
ReplyDeleteI am a big fan of bright colors but black and red and white combo seem to have got my eyes this year....happyness04431@yahoo.com.........
ReplyDeleteFor years, red was my favorite but in the last few years, I have been loving most shades of blue with aqua and orange thrown in. Not sure why the change but some years it's subdued colors but now it is full on bright color-maybe it will go back to red. Wonder, wonder what's next! gdavidhoffman@yahoodotcom
ReplyDeleteI love All colors !!!!!
ReplyDeleteBlue was my favorite color forever until the "Have your colors done" fad hit in the early 70's. I went to have mine done and said just don't tell me I am an Autumn because I don't like oranges and browns. Well, guess what I was? Yep. At first I just gritted my teeth and gave alway all my blue clothes. Now I can't imagine not liking those colors. Yeah for oranges and browns.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite color is red. I think it has always been my favorite color. Of course, almost any bright color makes me happy, too! Lots and lots of color! Have fun in Texas. Wish I was there.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite color this week is a lot like RJR Cotton Supreme Mint. Next would be a color like RJR Cotton Supreme Arabian Nights.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite color, why thanks for asking, any shade of green. It always reminds me of the mountains in New Hampshire.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite color is purple. I love it with green, orange, or gray! I just love it. The color that keeps catching my eye right now is gray. I am just drawn to it!
ReplyDeleteBeam me up for those colors. LOL Really, I'm earth bound, so could easily make use of this wonderful fabric collection. Do so hope I win. Emerald City floats my boat.
ReplyDeleteOrange is my go to happy blast the room with energy color! But some daze I am shy quiet purple hoping not to be noticed in the corner! LOL
ReplyDeleteFuchsia-it makes its way into almost all of my quilts.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is fantastic! I've always been partial to turquoise and grey, and I'm currently loving orange and watermelon/coral. Thanks for the chance :)
ReplyDeleteI love yellow, I have a yellow car. However it's too bright to quilt with so blues are my favorite quilting color. Your quilt is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteLove these colors! My current favorite color is deep red violet, like Kona cerise, but it changes pretty frequently. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteBoxwood green for me at the moment. My favorite color changes now and then. Usually it's Caribbean Sea aqua. Sometimes pink. I love to quilt with solids.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy red's and green's.
ReplyDeleteWhen I make a Quilt i use different colors
It depends on the person I am making for.
My "favorites" change depending on what, I don't always know. Right now looking at your Sizzix color palette, the one(s) I am most drawn to are the hot pink magenta, and I would pair it with that soft pink. It is fun to think about winning some colors to play with!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite color is cobalt blue although I love turquoise and red almost as much!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win!
jlpfeffer@gmail.com
I love the color Aburgine....beautiful!! Love these solids so much, thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteOrange! When I was younger my aunt and uncle gave our family some beach towels and my brothers and I fought over the orange one. I have always wondered if I loved orange and that's why I fought for it or if it became a favorite after it was suddenly so desirable! I do tend to like reds, oranges, pinks, golds, better than blues.
ReplyDeletePick one colour? It sounds like its straight out of Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWS8Mg-JWSg
Royal blue, at least for apparel. Brings out the blue in my eyes. As a child, my favorite was purple. I cannot think of a color I don't like though.
ReplyDeleteI love the colour blue. Fabrics that have rich blue hues always catch my eye. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite colour is blue thats on the edge of going in to purple - a rich cobalt blue! Either that or purple. Thank you for this chance.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite colors are blues and orange. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteFavorite color is turquoise and some days red...depends on the temperature.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite color definitely changes with my mood. I'm often drawn to purples but basically, any jewel tones rank high on my list.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite color is Orange! Or is it Green? But then I love hot pink and Caribbean blue! hehe, seeing a theme here?????
ReplyDeleteOur family collectively loves orange due to it's sentimental value. :) When fabric shopping, I lean towards reds. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm loving aqua today but it may be different tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI like bright colors, pink , turquoise, and greens Darlene dhoctor@sbcglobal.net
ReplyDeleteI love pink -- but I have yet to make a quilt.with lots of pinks!
ReplyDelete
