A fun little project.
I've wanted to make this quilt for two years… I've toyed around with the ideas a few times, and always stalled…. I had never been much of a feathered star 'fan'… Star quilts? YES! But feathers stars, not so much... until I saw this quilt. (below in green)
So when we, at the Quilt Alliance, who are partnered with the Quilt Index, made this years challenge to be "Inspired by…" Meaning, Find a quilt that inspires you on The Quilt Index, and make your own inspired version of it, in a 16" quilt, Well…. I knew exactly what quilt it had to be!
from INSPIRATION ( CLICK HERE) to design…
to slow and putsy sewing…
To adding design elements…
My Little 16" square beauty! Yes, those points are VERY TINY!
So. That's as far as I am on my little quilt! It took me hours to rip out all the paper, flying to India! I may or may not have left a paper trail, all the way from NYC to India!
I'm ready to quilt it... My mind is full of texture and pattern from visiting india...
What on earth will I do to finish it?

Lovely quilt! Good idea to rip out paper on the very long flight:mindless but productive work. I may have to check out this challenge; I'm in a piecing mood lately.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was looking at the first pictures, I didn't realize how small it is. Great quilt!
ReplyDeletePerfect! I love what's happening inside the feathered star. It is so exotique! Shows you have truly mastered machine paper piecing, too.
ReplyDeleteI love this!!! especially the photo of you in India! I am hoping to get my act together and make a quilt for the challenge too! and I have my tickets already for that weekend!!!
ReplyDeleteThose certainly are tiny points! This is just beautiful! Can't wait to see how you finish it.
