Holy cow it's been a year??!?!? It honestly seems like just a little while ago. Many congrats on your success! See you next summer in Milwaukee!
ReplyDeleteI love your work! I have been playing around with my little bits of scraps, hoping to take on your miniature challenge.... I am not sure it will be complete by December 1st, or actually even started by then! LOL Still, I am inspired to try it. I would love to win a copy of your book. Happy anniversary!
ReplyDeleteCongrats Victoria- love the book, be great to win! I have shared your face book page - grovel, grovel...

So excited about this giveaway!! I am taking one of your classes at the Original Sewing and Quilting Expo in Overland Park, Kansas in a couple of weeks---can hardly wait! Looking forward to getting a jump start on inspiration for 2014. Happy Anniversary on 1 year! Woo-hoo!
ReplyDeleteCongrats for the new book, love the cover, it makes me want to gather my scraps and and find that pattern in your book. I must confess I'm a fabricaholic, and attend therapy daily....in my sewing room.
ReplyDeleteYou are just so cute! I went to the Evening Star quilt show yesterday with Christine, and saw quilts that were inspired by you. There was a great star, with all pieced diamonds. It's so cool to see how you have influenced others. I need to get started making "made" fabric! Have fun today!
ReplyDeleteI've seen this book several times, and even got to see some of the quilts as they toured with the Sewing and Quilting Expo, so I know how wonderful they are. I'm a big fan of scrap quilts. I operate under the philosophy that the more scraps in a quilt, the better the quilt looks! It would be a treat to own "Fifteen Minutes of Play" and then make any of them I choose. Thank you for the chance to win, Victoria.
ReplyDeleteI would love to win! Such a fun giveaway that gives away again!
ReplyDeletemaggiecolorado@gmail.com
Hi V - Love your book. I've said it before that it's nice you are out there to validate my process - of veering off patterns and away from "tradition". I am not entering in the DWR challenge, but have ordered my templates and have a plan for one...that will have to suffice for now~
ReplyDeleteIf you pick me, I will pay it forward and give your book to the person i pick, since i already have and enjoy mine! It truly does inspire me when i need it.
A pay it forward giveaway is a wonderful idea. Love your book and inspirations.
ReplyDeleteI Love to play with fabric. I would like to get a look at your book.
ReplyDeleteI won your book last year (so I would definitely pass along your fabulous book!) when it first came out and found a whole new appreciation for improvisation in quilting. That's pretty much all I do now and I'm hooked on finding vintage tops and recreating them and finishing on my long arm. You are visiting our quilt guild in Lawrence, KS next year. Cannot wait! Happy sewing Victoria!
ReplyDeleteI Love Fabric And Would Love To Win Your book. A Lot Of The Time I Only have 15 To 30 min To Work On A projecT So I Your Book Would Help Me Manage My Time. Thank You For A Chance To Win.

I have been drolling over your book for a long while. I would love the inspiration!

ReplyDeleteSally@Babystepsquilting.com
I'm a true lover of fabrics! I would really like to win your book and learn some of your tricks.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations. I was lucky enough to attend your trunk show in Waupaca Wisconsin. Many of your comments have stuck with me... Especially "what else can I do here" and "what color is missing". It also inspired me to tackle the DWR challenge.
ReplyDeleteWow! A year just sails by!. I'll confess, I haven't really played along, but I do enjoy seeing the others play, and check the blog a few times a week! One of these days I'll play, too!
ReplyDeleteHappy 1 year :) Amazing how times flies!! I love taking a few minutes to play with fabric - always fun to see what things can become!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance at your book! I've been keeping a basket of scraps next to my machine lately, and every chance I get, I run a few through it. I've been making 'made fabric' blocks for a while now, and I just love them! They're so fun, unique and addicting! Thanks for all your inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI adore a wide variety of fabrics. I make fabric from scraps all the time just for fun. Sometimes I do scrappy and a lot of the time I do the made fabric in a color. These made fabrics I usually cut into squares and use them in quilts with a solid color in nine patches or just with sashing between the blocks.
ReplyDeletedorothymatheson@gmail.com
Amazing that a year has passed by. Love the book and have made some beautiful hexagons out of 15minutes of play fabric. The scrap fabrics were a favourite and I wanted to get some more joy from them. Thank you for the giveaway! Marie (mlismore@optusnet.com.au)

ReplyDeleteIt's seems like the past year has just flown by! Happy Anniversary! I have yet ti play 15 mins at a time, but I follow the blog and enjoy all the posters. I only have one hand I can use right now so all I can do is go through my scraps, sort and dream. Thanks for keeping the inspiration going!
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary! I'm grumpy if I don't sew every day, so I make time...
ReplyDeleteI am fortunate enough to have this book, so if I am chosen maybe I can pick another winner who can then pick another winner (how confusing is that?)
ReplyDeleteI love to play with fabric and I can rarely limit it to 15 minutes of play. And yes, I just plain love fabric.
I have done 15 minutes of play the bumblebeans way and I love it. I collect all my quilter friends scraps and make "fabric" from them. I have used your churn dash block pattern and am in the process of making a charity quilt.. Thanks for sharing your creativity and the giveaway. Don't have you book yet, so I'd love to win a copy.

Congratulations on your 1 year anniversary of a blockbuster book, I would love to win a copy. I have too long a list of someone else who would love for me to suggest them to win a copy too..but I will deal with that. Yippe for getting the book out and so many excited about "doable" quilting.

ReplyDeleteWould love to win a copy. I spent hours each day for over a week recently using your technique to make fabric. "15 minutes" is misleading. Hard to stop once you start! Thanks for sharing your talents.
ReplyDeleteI love fabric!!!!! =) Thanks for all of your wonderful ideas, and the giveaways!
ReplyDeleteLOVE YOUR BOOK! My grandfather used to allow us to use his tailoring scraps to make doll clothes... he showed us how to piece the scraps together to make larger "fabric" and 15 Minutes of Play brought back this sweet addiction. Love to play and would love to share!
ReplyDeleteWould LOVE to win your book! I have tons of scraps that need something to spark them.:)
ReplyDeleteCongrats and Happy Anniversary! What a lovely book. Playing and sharing is what it's all about, thanks!

ReplyDeleteI'm new to your blog and loved your video. Your book sounds like just what I need for some inspiration. Thanks for the chance to win and congrats on your book's 1 year anniversary.
ReplyDeleteCongrats - I love fabric! Love to play with it!
ReplyDeleteWell done on your 10th anniversary! And thanks for this opportunity. Wendy
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway. I love to make fabric and then use it for little projects: most recent a tiny lunch bag for my baby's mama to take to work with a snack one day. I used a row of strips that your blog encouraged me to use as a leader-ender project. It is so adorable--baby's mama loved it.
ReplyDeleteI only recently discovered your book (which I LOVE) and blog. I was immediately inspired to join in with the 15 Minutes Mini challenge and you kindly shared my piece on that blog. Although I've played with strings before, your book expanded the horizons of how crumbs/strings of fabric can have a life of their own and become something fun and beautiful. With the cost of fabrics going up and up we NEED to make full use of everything and you have found a way to make it almost more fun than cutting into a new FQ. Congrats on your first anniversary :)
ReplyDeleteLove your work and your book looks amazing :-)
ReplyDeleteOh, year has passed and I still don't have your book? It's high time to change it.
ReplyDeletePS. Fun idea with picking the second winner by first winner!
Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun giveaway!!
I have so many treasured scraps, I really need to try your technique. Thanks for reminding us to have fun playing with fabric!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I was playing with fabric last week and discovered-- I Love BEIGE! I didn't know! I mean, yes, I did buy the stuff, and put it on my shelf, but what a soothing and energizing color a good tea beige can be. I Guess I have to stop hating on any colors......
ReplyDeleteI have been playing with your book' s ideas and have entered a whole new dimension of working. Kind of like falling down the rabbit hole! Thanks for the daily inspiration and the fun of discovering new fabric combinations. Love your new line Sonnet.
ReplyDeleteI have a copy of your book and I have to say that it has inspired me to begin to reach out and "try" stuff--to actually cut into those saved fabrics and use them! I have a close quilting friend that I'd love to gift this book to---thanks for the opportunity...hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteCongratulations. Time does fly by when you're busy quilting!
ReplyDeleteI've been trying but my color sense is still off - it could be that I don't have enough scraps.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the 15 minutes of play made fabrics, and have quite a pile of them by my machine because I make the fabric using the leaders and enders method, so they keep growing and growing and growing!
