QTM Day and Party!

Quilter Take Manhattan...The Quilt Alliance's big NYC Event! Wow! What a day! Hearing Hollis Chatelain talk about her quilts was amazing... her work gives me goosebumps. "Ernest" below, just goes right to my soul.... It's a really amazing piece of work....

I enjoyed getting to chat with Hollis...I've been a big fan of her work for years... I feel gratitude for being able to get to know the people I admire. I so appreciate picking another creative person's brain...  just to share creative passions with other creative types, is so fantastic...

Paula Nadelstrern talking her quilt group, Semper Tedium. Great to hear her process....

The After Dark Party.... Yep. a whole lot of fun going on here...
Heather Jones, Luke Haynes, and Mark Lipinski. ( yep, in the pink) battle it out for the big prize...LOL! It was pretty funny...
I have to say, last night, out of the last three years we've done this, was quite a LOUD night!  But, super super fun! ( and no one called to complain about the noise! phew!)

Heather Picked Denyse Schmidt to help her with her quilt(you can see them all in action in yesterdays video haha!), Luke picked my friend Encyclopedia, and Mark Picked a gal from the audience to help them finish their crazy designs...

Then the winner was announced.... and MARK wins the BELT! hahaha! Congrats Mark!  Of course he put on quite a show!
Frances Holliday Alford made the prizes... the embellished wrestling belt, and ribbons, were given to the contestants...  Frances is quite the Artist, and is teaching at City Quilter today! Waaaay to much fun!
And... Alex Veronelli from Aurifil is also on the Quilt Alliance Board with me, and he brought along a sneak peek.... Yep... Yummy threads coming soon!  More on that later!

Off to teach my class today! The Loft is clean again, and it's time to sew!
