Check out the back of her star quilt... This was from two years ago at a retreat I did here at my home... see what I mean about Drool worthy?
Her son made himself at home in the scrap pile...so much better then leaves!

I've tried to do EPP but my shapes always turn out wonky. Love the picture of her ginger in the scrap pile. I am partial to gingers because I am mom to two of them.
ReplyDeleteI love EPP but so far have only done hexagons. Jessica's star quilt is amazing!
ReplyDeleteHaven't tried it, but it's on my want to do list!
ReplyDeleteI did my first ones before I knew the term EPP. Love the new take on traditional techniques.
ReplyDeleteI've made two EPP quilts- they were indeed labours of love!
ReplyDeleteI do hand work all the time. Right now I am knitting socks. I am also in the process of starting some English paper piecing. I just need an idea for a pattern. But I have my fabric cut. If I'm not doing hand work I am on my iPad.
ReplyDeleteI've done hexies but I'd like to try other shapes!
ReplyDeleteI have been doing EPP for about a little over a year now. I am working on a grandmothers flower garden and have also made several Christmas ornaments with EPP. As a matter of fact it was Jessica's blog and video that got me started on EPP. Thank you for the chance to win this lovely book.

Three weeks ago, I started my very first EPP project: hexagon flowers. It's my TV-time and travel hand piecing project. I've got an EZ hexagon ruler and am cutting my own paper pieces from business reply cards found in magazines. I'm still getting the hang of sewing the pieces together, and I'm looking forward to the day when I have enough flower blocks to start piecing them together. Thanks for the chance to win Jessica's book.
ReplyDeleteI have started my first EPP hexagon project. I found a unique setting several months ago that I plan to do. I'm enjoying building a stash of hexies while traveling or watching a movie. I can see this will be a lengthy process but I am enjoying the journey. I bought a lidded container with dividers I am sorting the hexies by color into it. Soon I will have enough variety to begin joining them. Would love to have this book.
ReplyDeleteI need to try this technique!
ReplyDeleteI love English paper piecing! I have three projects on the I, about to add a fourth with lozenges this time! Would love to check Jessica's book out.
ReplyDeletealmost all of my work is done by hand. I machine some tops but prefer hand work, almost all my quilts I do the quilting by hand also. I have made over a 100 quilts I have lost track!
ReplyDeleteI have tried English Paper Piecing and absolutely loved it. This would be a great book I am sure.
ReplyDeleteI made a queen-sized EPP hexagon scrappy flower quilt - Love it so much!!! Now I am making a 3/4-inch hexie of every fabric that passes through my hands to collect for another large quilt (probably a lifetime project). I would love some more EPP Ideas. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeletenope, haven't tried it, but Jessica's book is making me re-think it. thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeleteI tried english paper piecing a year ago thinking I can't imagine that this will be fun. I am hooked! I challenge myself to make my stitches small and get as many as possible in a one inch space. It is very meditating and relaxing for some reason. Thanks for offering a great giveaway and have a great time on the road.
ReplyDeleteA friend just recommended this book in my EPP quilting bee. Right now I am working on LV octagons!
ReplyDeleteI'm ready to try this. Need a new hand project.

ReplyDeleteI love the flexibility of being able to take EPP anywhere. I love hexagons, the smaller the better, but I have done other shapes as well.
ReplyDeleteJessica's star quilt top is outstanding! I love hand work more than any other aspect of quilting. I'm currently hand piecing a hexie top with contemporary fabric (the hexies are huge, too). I would like to try the EPP method one of these days.

Even curves are delightful to stitch...and always perfect since I stitch right on the line!! Looks like a great book and easily adaptable to other methods! :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful hand work! and gorgeous quilts! I do love EPP and keep a bowl with material swatches and hexies near the couch so I can pick some up to work on while watching TV in the evenings. Not sure what to make yet, but when I do, I'll be ready!

ReplyDeleteI am making a huge EPP, 1" hexie quilt. So far I have basted 2000 hexies. They are all scrappy, with scraps from my internet friends, so I will be basting all 2500 hexies before I start hand-sewing them all together. I would love to know more about EPP shapes and pattens, so this book would be right up my alley!
I have your book as well and really enjoy going through it, though I have not made a project yet.
Anyway, thanks for the giveaway!
