I wish this pic was in focus... Pink, oranges, mint purples... GORGEOUS... Now I want o go buy more of these colors to make something too!
Orange was definitely a color of choice today! It's funny how certain color are CATHCY! This bird was inspired by "My bird, Pierre" Quilt...I can't wait to see how she finishes it. ;-) It makes me smile!
Some Y seam PLAY happened as well.... SUCCESS!
It was a lovely Mother's day to be sewing...
Happy Mother's day to you!
Hope yours was lovely too!
Did you do anything special?
Cynthia Knapp! You won a copy of Marie's book!
CONGRATS! ( I will email you)
Victoria, I love your book and your blog. Happy Mother's Day!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a mother, but I did spend the weekend in a quilt workshop with Jenny Bowker which was just wonderful. I spent the weekend with my dear friend who is a new mum - so extra special!
ReplyDeleteI am still feeling so inspired by the workshop I did with you - I definitely think differently about fabric, scraps and shapes now!
Glad you had a good mothers' day. xx
Happy Mother's Day Victoria!
ReplyDeleteI spent my Mothers Day here in Australia with family. Participated in a Mother's Day walk for Breast Cancer in honour of our Mother. Everyone had a great day..pink, pink everywhere!
Looks like great things were created at your workshop. xx
I also did what I love, sewing, lol.
ReplyDeleteLove the bird pieces, I want to do some scrap pieces like that, fun way to use up scraps and make beautiful pieces of art.
Happy Mother's Day.
Debbie
Yep, met the crew at the park for an evening picnic and then a game of croquet. Oh and lots of chatter and a few pictures. Good time had by all and I WON the croquet - I'm the Mom. Happy Mother's Day to you - your daughter is starting to grow from a little girl to a lovely young lady.
ReplyDeleteYes, I did some sewing too; looks like our choice for the day has a common thread to it!
ReplyDeleteFor Mother's Day I spend two hours doing some much needed yardwork, dishes, made a big pot of chili and spent the rest of the time finishing the gray and yellow blocks for a quilt top I started on Saturday. My son called to wish me a happy Mother's day and we will get together next Sunday to celebrate. Sounds like you had a great time with your class! Happy Mother's Day!
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day! My daughter and I went to an open house at Oran Arts. She let us browse thru her MILLIONS of bolts of yukata fabric and pick two free yards. Patricia had a Japanese tea set out and her studio set up to see how to use the fabric. FUN FUN FUN!
ReplyDeleteHi Victoria
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you had a fun mom's day doing what you love! Beatrice is a cutie and beauty! I spent the day with daughter and mom.Three generations---very cool. We went shopping--daughter and mom went clothing shopping----I chose the local fabric/notions shop!-----(they just don't have the gene). I splurged on some goodies including a new book "All my thanks and love to Quilts" By Keiko Goke. Victoria if you don't have it ----get it ! I know you will adore it---so will your followers! I met up with mom and daughter after my goodie shopping and we dined at a lovely Italian bistro for dinner! All is good, all is happy--I'm blessed to have such a wonderful and supportive family!
Today---back to sewing---lots to do!
As always,
Happy stitchin'
Renee
