I had a long weekend at my house hoping I'd get a bunch done... Turns out I got a little bit done. But that's ok...
I did the stitch in the ditch on this quilt,( Fun on the long arm!) now that I brought my batting out here... I had it set up and waiting for me last week. I also hung up a new photo by Jim Naughten, the woman...in her amazing dress. She's so powerful and beautiful, I had to have her... and I had to have her hanging in my creative space. There is a show of his on now at Klomching gallery, and if you know Selvedge magazine, he's in there this month as well.
Saturday, a.m. I went and got all my garden stuff, dropped in some tomatoes even though I had the start of a migraine. AGAIN. By noon I was out of commission, and only just now, Sunday, have crawled out of bed... I used to get them constantly, then they went away for years...
Then this past year, they are back... and well... not fun. Time to get back to the doctor, as these are becoming very frequent... like spending a day in bed at Quiltcon with one... not fun.
So. I'm going to be lazy again today.
Hope you have a lazy happy Sunday!
Oh! Hop over to my friend Lyric's blog, say hi, and leave a comment to win a copy of my book!
I'm off to lounge.
blah.
another edit!
ooh! Just got this photo, thought I'd pop back in here and share... Double Edged Love is hanging at the San Jose Quilt Museum! Can't wait to go see it in person June 2nd! Will you come to the opening and say hi?
I wish you well - debilitating pain is not a great way to live!
ReplyDeleteas I don't have migraines I won't say I know how you feel, but I hope you can solve what causes them and get medication to take at the first sign of them so they won't get bad. Lovely photo of you with your quilt on the chair.
ReplyDeleteDo hope you get rid of them soon, they are terrible!
ReplyDeleteOh no that is NOT good news....I hope it is a easy fix to get rid of them...how did you do it last time?
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt on Handiquilter......great colors and motion!
Happy Sunday, we're going out with friends in rainy NC......only 60 degrees here.
I've started getting them the past year too. Not fun at all.
ReplyDeleteHope today is better for ya.
Mich
Victoria, do hope you're feeling better.
ReplyDeleteI get the darn things too ~ from time to time and they lay me out flat!
Here's to being in the pink!
YUCK!!! Know first-hand that migraines are not fun. Rest and then rest some more. Good idea to see doc as there are medications out there that can help. In the meantime, healing and restful thoughts coming your way.
ReplyDeleteDear Victoria,
ReplyDeleteI hope your migraine ends quickly.
I have suffered with chronic migraines for the past 3 years, so I do know the pain. None of the medications out there helps with the chronic pain, so my Neurologist has me on Fentanyl patches. These are 3-day release dose patches, but Fentanyl does come in other forms.
Just a thought.
BTW, I have your book and I just loooove it!
Awww...migraines are the worst! What a beautiful picture of you Victoria...
ReplyDeleteOh yes. A fat quarter here, a fat quarter there, the aqua floral, that yellow--time to look for that Bella red I just bought. I think that I will do flying geese. If Imitrex, Relpax, or avoiding pickles (fermented foods) does not work please consider Zomig for those migraines. This year it might seriously be weather related with all these storm fronts passing through.
ReplyDeleteSomething must have been in the air, even thousands of miles away, I was in bed all day Saturday with a migraine, also. I am on the mend and hope you are, too. Love the picture of the dress. I take Maxalt for my migraines. They melt on your tongue and go straight to work. Love them.
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling better Victoria, love your new photo on the wall - glorious.
ReplyDeleteIt's fun to see the red and white quilt again. Sorry to hear about the migraines. Hoping your doc has a good cure. Your quilt at the show looks just perfect hung with the dress!
ReplyDeleteHugs on the migraine. I haven't had one in a while, but when they hit, they pack a wallop.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt looks awesome hanging there! Congrats on the "buzz" you've created (along with the quilt!) I do hope you can get beyond these headaches quickly!! I must say it again...I so love that picture of the woman in that dress! Powerful! Hugs, Doreen
ReplyDeleteUgh. Sucks to be sick! Hope you feel a lot better very soon.
ReplyDeleteYour book has helped a friend get interesting in crazy and impro piecing! She was over at my house at Easter while I helped her baste and quilt her first quilt, and she spotted your book in my sewing room. Well she was off and racing and now her head is full of great ideas for quilts she can make! So thanks Victoria - you have another person fully addicted! (I love having friends who quilt)
Oh that's so cool that your quilt is hanging up at the San Jose Quilt Museum. I'll be in the Bay area that week so I'll probably be able to pop over and check it out in person. Yay!
ReplyDeleteHello Victoria, regarding your migraines, you may want to visit a chiropractor. If he does craniosacral therapy, it would be a bonus. It has helped me immensely and the best thing is no pain without meds!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your migraines. I too used to suffer. Another remedy - for what it's worth - I saw a Chinese herbalist who cured me. Turns out mine were hormonal. Do hope you can find some help...and quickly! Hugs x
ReplyDeleteGlad you are getting some time to just chill. I used to get migraines, too. They are in "remission" at the moment. I found mine are very stress related. They suck, no matter what they are related to. I hope you get them resolved soon. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteYikes! I hate those migraines. I get lots of them too. I missed Christmas this year because I got the worst migraine I'd had in years Christmas Eve and was too sick to drive and see my family. I would recommend Chinese herbs and acupuncture; they help out a lot and don't have any negative side effects...Best of luck conquering them!
