Bday fab!

First, I want to say a HUGE THANK YOU for all the BIRTHDAY WISHES and kind words about SONNET? !!!  I'm so excited about the line! I hope that they will provide some fun inspiration! My Birthday was so nice. We arrived out at our house on Long Island friday morning, and in my garage was many boxes.... and my couch out of our basement!

You can see my couch out through the door, in the garage!  So why is it out there next to my Harley, which also sat in my basement?  Because I needed to make room for my Birthday present!
Yep... I did it... I bought a Handi Quilter Fusion pro stitcher... I think I have finally found a use for this unused part of our basement... from playroom, to movie room, to storage room, (could never get Beatrice spend time down there on her own...)  So, even though my studio is on the other end of the house, THIS baby, is going to be my second quilting room... my studio here is pretty small, and I really don't have anywhere else this HUGE machine would fit... I will make some changes to the room, move some other stuff out.... empty the cabinet for quilt-y stuff...move the toy boxes out... things like that.

Jenny Egg was quite perplexed over the whole thing... But I think in the end, she will be keeping me company often down here....

I have more work to do to get the machine up and running, but for now, the heavy stuff is done!
Please note, those of you who have one, I am NOT FINISHED putting this together. this is as far as I got today... it was on FB yesterday and I had all these emails from people telling me all these things... so I am just repeating IT'S NOT DONE YET... Laughing my butt off.!!!  And hoping that will save me hours emailing saying, "Thank you, but I'm not done yet..." right now it's out of the way so I can get other stuff OUT of the room and arranging it the way I want....;-) That's part of the fun!

I will look forward to playing on the machine in a couple weeks, because next week I am in Schaumberg, IL at the Sewing & Quilting expo... If you are in the area, please come by and say hi! I'll have books to buy, will be at THE SPOT and doing a quilt talk on my quilt exhibit... FUN STUFF!
Thanks Newcastle Fabrics for the Beautiful Birthday flowers, (that I am holding) ;-)

Yes, I had a great day... Everyone must enjoy there one special day... life is to short...

I know a great belated Birthday gift
 you all could give me!

MORE BABY & TWIN SIZE QUILTS!!!  We have quite a bunch in already, but we need more!  I delivered 75 WINTER COATS that were donated to the parent infant center on Wednesday, and I'm quite eager to get them the quilts they need sooner rather then later....

PLEASE!!!!

THANK YOU!

I hope your Friday was fantastic and warm!

  1. I knew it! I guessed it! So happy for you! I am pinching myself at all your good fortune the past several weeks. You are so very deserving! Way to go... I am off to bed now and taking me a little light quilt reading as is my norm. I just received my issue of American Quilter in the mail today...and what is on the cover? "Quiltcon Best in Show STUNNER!" Your quilt isn't on the cover but you got top billing.
Tickled to death for you. Enjoy your Birthday. Best to you and your family.

  8. Couldn't be a more perfect birthday gift. The space is perfect. Please, please, please don't over quilt your quilts with this baby. I've seen so many overquilted quilts lately. I think quilters get so happy with their quilting it so overpowers the designs. Have fun

  19. Wohoo, good for you! What made you pick this model? I have been eyeing the new Juki TLQ 2200...
Linked up to your blog for baby quilt support, combined with an e-book review: the QAYG is perfect for a beautiful & quick charity quilt ( no longarm necessary).

  23. I'm sure your HD will forgive the displacement!! Next to my HQ SS, my HD is the fave place to be (during those brief, beautiful summer days in S.E. MN....God's Country/Coulee Region!). Belated, but sincere B'day greetings to you! We have a little bit more in common as my fave piecing machine is the Juki TL2010Q....which I still prefer for my micro-stippling! Congrats, again, on your beautiful "Best in Show" at QuiltCon. Hugs and Easter Blessings to you and your family from a sister Minnesotan....Doreen
