Here's an oldie...(see old posts here) Yes! I am still appliqueing the black leaf shapes on. Here I thought I had caught up on all my unfinished UFO tops. Ha! Fat Chance! I have it hanging up on my design wall at my house. I hadn't been out there in a few weeks, so when I walked in and saw I still had this up on the wall, it just made me smile. It will look so good when I get it done. It's on my priority list to finish.
You may recall a few weeks back, I had moved out SIX LARGE BAGS FULL OF QUILTS out of my loft in NYC to my house. here they all sit. We are reorganizing our storage in our house. (YUCK) This may be a project for summer. We pulled everything out of our storage area, and are trying to figure out a way so that I can store my quilts there. As it is the basement, humidity etc. is a problem, and one never knows if you will flood your basement...(Hello Hurricane Irene!) so I am being extra cautious and said I did not want to rush figuring this out... Such a dreadful project... I'd rather be sewing of course!
My guest room is holding a few more boxes of quilts...
Anyone wanna come help me? We'll have to clean out this room first, for ya!
It was a nice lazy weekend. Just what I needed.
I had to do something else I wasn't crazy about doing this weekend...
You'll laugh.
It has to do with swim suits, Dramamine, and...
Oh, I don't really want tell you yet...I'm in complete and utter denial about it...
It will have to wait for another day.
Did you do anything productive this weekend?
Yep, I am getting my fabrics organized, boxed or on shelves, and I can actually see my floor! LOL! I love the new snuggle quilt you bound. Is it a vintage top?
ReplyDeleteThe piece with the appliqued leaves is really striking!
Your finds are super. Isn't that fun. I worked in the garden doing roto tilling. It's our first big garden and green house. But tonight I'm going to clean up some of my down stairs sewing room.
ReplyDeleteDramamine and swimsuits? Are you training to be an astronaut? I can't wait to hear this story. Hope it has a good ending.
ReplyDeleteWe toodled around the area a bit (still getting to know our new state). Plus, I got some handwork done for a project I'm working on.
reorganizing seems to be the thing at this time, I have been rearranging rooms and at long last i have my own sewing room. A dream come true!
ReplyDeleteI thought about washing the windows.....luckily that passed and I played at my sewing machine with my next group of "just takes 2" blocks :0)
ReplyDeleteHappy sewing
Thinking about your basement storage I thought about those silicon packets they use in shoe boxes and candy boxes to keep the humidity low... you might get some of those to put in your bins, and store them high, just in case.
ReplyDeleteHugs!
Love the quilty stuff, but I'm fascinated by the swimsuit/dramamine concept - What's up????
ReplyDeleteas soon as I organize MY quilts I'll come do yours.. don't hold your breath... and I started some blocks with the grey yellow last night.. just because!
ReplyDeleteAre you kidding!?! A chance to come and dig in your quilts? Sounds like a fantasy trip.
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt you just finished, perfect for snuggling. Trying to clean up and get caught up with laundry here, plus working on a little art quilt. I think the hope of spring is making us all feel more energetic. Hope it continues, there's so much to do!
That quilt would make me smile too! I thought about organizing, does that count?
ReplyDeleteI had an unexpected free afternoon Saturday and I spent several hours paper piecing. I can't decide if I like it or not. It definitely is not "me" but I really want to use the fish for something at our beach house. It may be the last free time I have for awhile. It will be basketball full time for the next few weeks!! We love our basketball in NC!
ReplyDeleteProductive?...tried a new pot roast recipe, pushed past a "stuck" spot in a quilting project - yay!, brought flowers to a sick friend, saw a play, and visited the art institute. and saw my daughter for dinner. :) can't wait to see what your big mystery is...
ReplyDeletei would choose a different drug to go with a swimsuit, especially in early march. :>)
ReplyDeleteI forgot how much I liked that quilt after you put the black applique on it. A stroke of genius!
ReplyDeleteDramamine as your drug of choice? That is a little freaky!
Have a great day!
Oh, that's it. Just leave us all in suspense . . . I can't wait to hear this one!
ReplyDeleteI have been following your blog for some years. I love so much your style of patch!
ReplyDeleteTo answer your question, I was not productive this week-end, because I am in hollydays in the Alps (I couldn't go for 6 years so it's fun!). As you can see from my bad English, sorry, I am French.
The patch with squares you found in your storage is wonderful!
Are you taking a cruise?
ReplyDeleteLove those quilts in the photos.
