Cut cut, sew sew...

I worked so hard last year to get rid off UFO's &  Half started and abandoned
quilt tops, that I couldn't just leave the two little blocks of chicken wire HST's to
begin the year like that. So today, I finished sewing together the HST's I had
already cut.

At first I thought a pillow.  Nah... I think this piece has more potential
then just a pillow....

Now how can I make it grow?

When I see my Scrap BINS overflowing I decide I can dive in and play
with all those random scraps to make soemthing interesting out of these
blocks...

Cut cut, sew sew...

Hmmmm, I like the start of that, but what if I....

Cut cut, sew sew...

Cut a few more HST's and make that center bigger..... and

Cut a few more Bigger HST's.... and

what if I....

Cut cut, sew sew...

 Then Turn them on point?

Potential is there!

Now what if I....

Cut cut, sew sew...

To be continued.

  1. Ooohhh can't wait to see what you end up with. You can make anything work! It kind of looks like a fish (swimming downwards?) in that last photo.

  2. I like where you are heading with this. I did a little what if playing yesterday with the scraps from the triangle block. Nothing ready to show yet, but maybe today.

  3. It changes for the Better when you turn it on point. I have to remember this trick for when I get to a point like that.

  13. My friend, Connie and I, were cutting half-square triangles for a quilt project for a wounded vet. We managed a lot of "cut, cut" but no "sew, sew". That will come later this week. :-)

  14. Hey Precious!! Love the HST! I'm making one too, although mine are blue and white. I've been wanting to do it for a long time, and I've decided this is the time!! It'll probably take me all year, it's going to be a BIG one. I bought lots of blue in Houston. I'll keep you posted!
