I worked so hard last year to get rid off UFO's & Half started and abandoned
quilt tops, that I couldn't just leave the two little blocks of chicken wire HST's to
begin the year like that. So today, I finished sewing together the HST's I had
already cut.
At first I thought a pillow. Nah... I think this piece has more potential
then just a pillow....
Now how can I make it grow?
When I see my Scrap BINS overflowing I decide I can dive in and play
with all those random scraps to make soemthing interesting out of these
blocks...
Cut cut, sew sew...
Hmmmm, I like the start of that, but what if I....
Cut cut, sew sew...
Cut a few more HST's and make that center bigger..... and
Cut a few more Bigger HST's.... and
what if I....
Cut cut, sew sew...
Then Turn them on point?
Potential is there!
Now what if I....
Cut cut, sew sew...
To be continued.
Ooohhh can't wait to see what you end up with. You can make anything work! It kind of looks like a fish (swimming downwards?) in that last photo.
ReplyDeleteI like where you are heading with this. I did a little what if playing yesterday with the scraps from the triangle block. Nothing ready to show yet, but maybe today.
ReplyDeleteIt changes for the Better when you turn it on point. I have to remember this trick for when I get to a point like that.
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat progression. Can't wait to see how it turns out. Have a great Sunday.
ReplyDeleteFab -- with whatever design you decide on. One this is for sure...you'll have plenty of HST.
ReplyDeleteLove it, the bigger pieces are great!
ReplyDeleteLove wherever it's going! So glad you didn't abandon those chicken-wire blocks.
ReplyDeletelove love loving it - it really has a sort of antiquey, already loved look that is so appealing!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what happens V. Love projects like this :)
ReplyDeleteLots of potential there!
ReplyDeleteLove the look, can't wait to see more cut, cut, sew, sew results.
ReplyDeleteI have always been rather attracted to the HST and have had making a quilt this way on my list for a lllllong time - please don't make me so inspired i want to dive into my scraps again - I really have a list of other things to do!!!
ReplyDeleteTo be continued and you went off to play with Kaffe and Liza..... I love chicken wire!
ReplyDeleteMy friend, Connie and I, were cutting half-square triangles for a quilt project for a wounded vet. We managed a lot of "cut, cut" but no "sew, sew". That will come later this week. :-)
ReplyDeleteHey Precious!! Love the HST! I'm making one too, although mine are blue and white. I've been wanting to do it for a long time, and I've decided this is the time!! It'll probably take me all year, it's going to be a BIG one. I bought lots of blue in Houston. I'll keep you posted!
ReplyDeleteYou have such a gift!!!! Love to see your thought process - hope you're having a great day.
