I saw this ad in the subway today and thought it was funny
that they used a QUILT shop as the AD...
Oh, the poor things we make our hubys' do...
hehe
Look at this YUMMY stuff! Thomas Knauer, sent me some of his NEW and FIRST Line
PEAR TREE for Andover
Isn't it fun! It's always nice to get squishy packages in the mail!
Thanks Thomas! I will think of something fun to do with it!
Speaking of SQUISHY... Paula Prass's glorious line BOTANIKA arrived today...
I've been drooling over it ever since SPRING market...
These yummies are going in my bedroom.. Not sure in what form yet...
But they will live there for sure.
Is that husband abuse, if he doesn't get to pick out the colors he sleeps under?
Maybe that should be the ad above instead!
This also arrived today in the mail... yep. A double knit top... Love them...
I keep collecting them, but never finish them...
My quilt-mom, HELEN,
gave Boo her set of Color cubes when we saw her last...
I snatched them from her today so I could play with them a bit...
they are so cool... Little cute wooden blocks...
Thanks Helen!
Ever wonder how they add a link to those cranes when they are so high up in the air?
me too...
It happened so fast, I still can't tell you!
I maybe the only one who cares about this, but, today, they POURED the concrete
for the 7th floor AND build the whole 8th floor in wood....
How do they do that?
I know you all don't really care, and are forced to listen to me yak on about this...
But I sit here and look out my windows and it's all happening
so fast I have not morned the loss of my light and view yet...
I did put a call into getting new lighting in my studio...
That's one thing off my list of things to do!
--Time to go cut some fabric!
Have a great weekend!
That is a perfect ad!!
ReplyDeleteColor cubes look like lots of fun--wonder where she picked those up.
Hope you still have some more window views before they block the sun and the view. Love the new fabric that just arrived your door way. I always have trouble looking out contemporary fabric selections
ReplyDeletemulti subject post, yikes!! where to start? 1. like the add too, at least he's not rolling his eyes.. 2.oh yes, that's some yummy fabric, how do they continue with that wow factor season after season? 3.why of course you need keep us informed of the goings-on around your quilt making. 4.wood?? you think concrete or steel, maybe they're making forms for pouring concrete. 5.thinking of everyone as we go into this remembrance weekend. xoxo
ReplyDeleteI would be fascinated by the construction process of that building, too. Heck, I'm fascinated by the Zamboni at my boys' hockey games!
ReplyDeleteHilarious ad! As for the new view, I feel your pain, I went from living in the wide open spaces of wheat farming country where I could sit on my porch and watch the sun set over the neighbors barn on the rolling hills to looking out my living room window to an abandoned piece of crap motor home that the neighbor was using as a fence!
ReplyDeleteOOOOOOO - that Botanika!!!!! Don't ask.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Swam in the lake yesterday AND today!!!
ReplyDeleteOoo, I'm in love with that Thomas Knauer fabric!
ReplyDeleteOh, you are such a dear friend. I hope you find the perfect place for that colorway...thought of you when making color selections. xo
ReplyDeleteThat ad is hilarious .. if it were my shop there would be a big steaming cuppa joe in front of him and he'd be smiling! I recently found my childhood set of color cubes .. don't have the box though so it's fun to see all the combinations they've shown.
ReplyDeleteOh, Victoria, I thought maybe I was the only one who collected double-knit quilt tops. LOL! You know, if you are back in Minnesota visiting sometime, you should come out and visit and we could have tea or whatever and look through old quilt tops that my dad bought at farm auctions and estate sales. There are some that you would just love!
ReplyDeleteI was given 2 double knit quilt tops earlier this year. One was hexies, but, they put a few corduroy hexies in with the double knit. The corduroy hexies fell apart. Now I'm trying to find some double knit so that I can repair it. I never thought I'd like a double knit quilt top.
